the eu repair file is only 2.0 and the us is 3.0 so wheres the 2.4.3?
Im pretty sure that people who are trying to downgrade from 3.x.x to 2.4.3 have used "InstallWoW.exe". Its a file that lets you scroll and choose what you want to install 1. WoW. 2. Burning Crusade. 3. WotLK.
I think that most of the guys here only chose to install Burning Crusade (as did i) and ended up with version 3.0.1 and a blue log in screen with a flying dragon and what not.
When i tried to do the steps in the guide, i ended up with an error it was 1301 or something like that. I used the InstallWoW.exe again and reinstalled BC. After that i tried to replace just the repair.exe, but not the WoW.exe, it worked but it didnt downgrade at all, it stayed 3.0.1.
I looked through some tutorials on youtube and what not, one guy suggested deleting patch.mpq from data folder before deleting the wow.exe. I went to look for that patch.mpq file, but i couldnt find it.
I tried multiple repair.exe versions, 2.0.0, 2.2.0 etc. None of them worked, they simply did not patch down WoW.
Its funny, all the time ive spent trying to downgrade i couldve spent reinstalling WoW, and most likely already playing it... BUT, i find this kinda fun (even though frustrating) and educational.
Last thing im going to try is the method one of the fellows here suggested...
Im going to patch my 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 and then try downgrading again. If THAT doesnt work, then ill just reinstall WoW...
Right after i downloaded and installed 3.0.2 patch, i found out that patch.mpq file is now in data folder. Now im thinking, should i delete the patch.mpq or not? The guide here doesnt say anything about deleting it, but, the tutorials on youtube say yes...
Im going to try to downgrade without deleting patch.mpq. If that doesnt work, ill try deleting it too. Ill let you guys know how it went.
I didnt delete the patch.mpq and tried replacing repair.exe and wow.exe with the ones provided. I got a slightly different error (no, it didnt work... *sigh*), first it said something about "no CD" and "Cancel""Try Again""Continue", then i got a 3164 WoW error.
Since i backed up the original repair.exe, wow.exe and patch.mpq, now im going to try it with different repair.exe and same wow.exe.
I hate to disappoint you guys but, everything i have tried has failed. Only option left for is to reinstall, or update and play on some other server.
I kinda wanted to see what its like to play Deathknight, so i think im going to try a 3.0.9 server for a while. Then ill go back to 2.4.3. Peace everyone.
P.S: If anyone does find a way to downgrade it, please let me know. PM or post.
This guide fails, the Repair.exe in the file you gave us is version 3.0.1 so you can't downgrade unless you can find a 2.4.3 repair tool, good luck
Yeah, that's right.

I been looking at the post here and tried all of what i heard. I could not get nothing to work. I wanted to downgrade my wow to play on a private server which supported 2.4.3 i had 3.0.9 . Like i said i tried all the lil funk stuff on here and i had no luck with none. So my suggestion is to do like i have already started doing . I did a bit torrent search for anybody that posted a wow folder already patched . I found a couple and and now i am in the process of downloaded them, I found 1 that was patched to 2.4.3 pretty much all i need . it 5.14 gb it will take me 12 hrs to dl . So good luck to you all
works for me!
