[GUIDE] Run a MaNGOS 2.4.3 server in 3 steps with the noobpack by 711

Sure thing thecruge1, i will need GM / Admins for my private server once i get it public, i am downloading and configuring the files as i type, i will post the realm-list info, and hopefully the website for it as soon as i can. If anyone wants to help me with my server, please send me an email at (Posted at bottom of post) with what you can do, and why you should be picked. My server is going to be run on my laptop, which atm stays on 24/7 with 2gbs of ram and around 120gbs of hard drive and a 54 mbps connection, but i am planning to upgrade once i move out.

If the server goes well, i may think about a dedicated server but will need donators.

Remember, i am ONLY looking for well spoken peoples, good english talking / typing skills. I am NOT looking for young people who abbreviate everything.

the server i feel is public atm, the website url is http://192.168.2.100 ; just click on the create account and then read the fag titled "Connection info" and see if you are able to log in. The server is running on patch 2.4.2 so don't make account for 2.4.3 post if you are unable to get on, or create account.

What must I do to connect to your server? I have tried before to get on other peoples servers but it does not work and I would very much like to play on yours. I have a few friends that would like to play also. The only issues is that I have version 2.4.3 so is there a way to 'de-update' my game? Thanks.

There is, you need to delete your patch.mpq and patch.mpq2, then run the repair wizard and update to patch 2.4.2 that way.

So after I make my version 2.4.2 all I have to do is go to realmlist.wtf and change the 127.0.0.1 to http://192.168.2.100 correct? I hope to see you on your server very, very soon! Thanks!

edit: I have version 2.4.2 and I went to realmlist.wtf and changed the original code to 192.168.2.100 and it started to connect but then it said 'unable to connect'. I am thinking it is because your server is down...? Thanks

Hey is was wondering about the getting other people to join on my private server cuz i wanted my mate on there so i tryed to follow the instruction u gave on it and i got stuck on doing the ports i dont know were to put them or anything

for me i made it public and for my friends it stops at logging into game server what did i do wrong???

I found my problem, I had a Firewall blocking the ports and the 127.0.0.1(loopback) for some reason. I fixed it and it runs great!
