concerning my previous post, i figured it out using the Hamachi method, never did find out how to do it otherwise

Ive edited the database and when anyone (including myself) try to log in it gets stuck at logging into game server, anyone knows how to fix this?

renji, you don't run mangosd and restarter, you run mysql and restarter.

tobbe, you'll have to manually transplant the data, see my earlier post about that

And to everyone who gets the error with server appearing offline, are you running it fresh, or have to altered anything? If the error only occurs after trying to make the server public, then you're obviously messing that up somehow. =D Sucks.

I haven't changed ANYTHING from what your instructions said. I'm not trying to have other people connect, just me. I'm not getting any errors or anything, my server just isn't online. I've tried other ways to set up my own private server in the past and they all failed so I deleted all of the folders and such. This time I'm so close... please, anything you can think of to get this server to work would be appreciated beyond belief.

I posted this question a few days ago and got no responce. I can't figure out how to save a character. When I log in a create one, I play around for a while, log off, close everything out, shut down my pc, and when I go back to play later I have to start over. This is my first attempt at running a private server and frankly I'm suprised I got it to work at all lol. If anyone out there knows what the problem is I'd appriciate some input. So far I've tried ".save" in game, and when I close everything out I get a message something like "files in mangos have been changed, do you want to save changes?" and I click yes, but my toon doesn't save through pc shutdown.
