In which that product is also free. King doesent have to do anything if he doesent want to. He can drop this whole project right now. So just stop complaining and whining and wait. He provided an update a few hours ago. He is not trying to sell you something. Its free.

There are many free products and services. And no one is "whining". The worst I've seen is "need upd" and " its too long :'(". So if you consider that "whining" then I guess the proper response you are looking for is "stop being a fanboi?"

In all seriousness though, many services and products are free. That doesn't make a bit of difference in the demand pool. And if he chooses to "drops this whole project right now", that's fine. As long as he communicates it to us, his fans.

All I'm saying is that a little info on a regular basis would be nice and would stop the dreaded "whining" you guys are whining about.

Edit: "He provided an update a few hours ago." -- it was actually 14 hours ago, and he said he needed an hour or so left to work on it. Apparently that has changed. Try not to skew things to provide evidence on a point that is moot.

In everyone's defense, if you are going to publicize that you are working on something that is in high demand, prepare for people to want it. It's not so much "GIVE SANDBOX NAO!" but more "Hey, I know you are working on this, and an update every day would be sweet." These long periods of no updates will cause some people to wait patiently, some people to request updates to just know whats going on, and some to rage quit and never open the page again.

Furthermore, with the way alpha is ramping up, if the updates from King (be it communication or actual updates) come several days (weeks?) at a time, he may never catch up with updates and patches.

So, I feel that an update (even if its, "Hey gang, still workin' on it, thanks for your patience!) ever day or half day (not every 2, or 3, or 4 days) is a healthy request.

Moral of the story: Don't publicize that you are working on a killer, in-demand product, not communicate with your customer/fan base, and then not expect "update plz??" posts. Just a friendly suggestion/observation.

i agree with him, being patient don't forbit to ask for updates, and "asking" is not "oblige". I think there is a huge difference.
I still have some hopes for this evening, cross fingers !
it also would be nice to tell us what are the problems he is facing to understand what kind of work he has to do.

Please stop telling me to "wait patiently" and "stop whining"., I have not once complained or whined in this thread lol. I'm simply stating reasons as to why OTHER PEOPLE are posting about requesting updates. Please read the entire thread before commenting. lol.

Also, not completely wrong. This is how the world works: If you have something, and you offer that something to people, they will respond. The way they respond is up to the provider. "Price" does not matter. Only information. This proves even more true in the online gaming community, in a purely free-speaking, anonymous environment with little consequences. You should actually be happy that people aren't being ragey and angry. The "Stop whining, blah blah" posts are just as bad as the ones requesting updates..

If you don't believe me, please go to Google, type in "free to play game" in the search box, and hit any of those games' forums. You'll see the palyers are just as demanding as with any title that is purchasable. Sometimes even more so (LoL comes to mind.. ugh.)

Nope, It's not, It's a free product, we aren't paying for it, he isn't getting paid for it, We have no right to bicker and whine.

Just wanted to post that whilst I am awaiting King's latest sandbox, I have been and will continue to be patient and support him.

The amount of self-entitlement is incredible, and the lack of respect and appreciation is astonishing.

I support you King, and I do not blame you if you are taking your time. I would too after seeing some of these comments made by some of the people here.

With all the complaining, I just felt that I should state my support. Keep up the good work.

It's funny you brought that up, I was thinking the same thing.
By the way, to anyone wondering how he did it, he downloaded an internal Mac build that was accidentally released by Blizzard.

The client has all debug symbols and various internal functionalities. He basically roughly copied & pasted disassembled code to his emulator and claims to be a pro and what not and act like a douche to everyone when they ask about it. I also suspect some of the people who have this sold it, so he may be selling it himself. This is why the big servers get the new expansions first.

It shouldn't be, considering this is the internet. And I'm sure we all support and appreciate King's work. We would be able to appreciate and support his work even more if we knew what was going on.

i think you miss understand; no one tells him to be quicker. We will wait as long as it needs (we have no choice), but we can ask for updates, king is smart enough to tell us if we are disrespectfull i think.
It is just easyer to wait if we have an approximate date of release or when there is a delay, the reason of this delay. king owes us nothing, and he does what we can't do and i do have much respect for that but a bit more often words to tell us where he is , would be nice to us.
