I'm also having "Bad Internet Connection" -- have made sure httpd is not in task manage, closed, relaunched.. Nada. Will try a few more times

The bad internet connection is telling you your httpd.exe is not running or has a problem it could be because you have skype and it uses port 80 it also could be teamviewer using port 80.

it has nothing to do with your real internet connection it has everything to do with your localhost connection to your website using httpd.exe

check your task manager and see if the processes httpd.exe is running.


and if your spells do not work for any class make sure you are patched with the patcher.exe located in c:/World of Warcraft/patcher.exe this patcher will patch your WoW.exe file so it should be placed in your wow folder where ever you have that..


it will make a Back up of your normal retail wow.exe and patch a new one for private servers

** Edit ** Well, it started once, closed it down to edit the config and make sure realmlist was correct and now having trouble getting it fired up again. Does it sometimes take several launch / close / launch cycles to get it to open up?


and I'm making sure before trying to relaunch httpd.exe is closed down in task manager (was doing that per this thread before I made a post)

photoshop.exe is usually closed, besides doing these screenshots. i could very well be unaware of something on the list using port 80. (i've tried this various times with firefox closed too) -- the most frustrating thing is that i had it open properly once. haha!

Well, I went to bed and when I woke up it had actually gotten past the bad internet connection screen. Does it just take 10 or 15 minutes to load or something? I was able to sign up with whatever that was that put images / videos / wow / core on the left of the screen, but the screen wouldn't do anything from there and when I tried to restart it, it's stuck currently (only about 3 minutes) on bad internet connection. Going to just leave it open and do other things and hope it gets through it and see if I can get it to work. I only need it to work as a sandbox, which is frustrating there aren't any sandboxes around I can find for current versions, only full server EMUs it looks like...

But anyway, thanks for everything as it is so far

well i messsed up one the 2.5 release i forgot to change the worldserver.conf back to the repacks database information

its located here
C:\World of Warcraft\Core\server\realms\4.0.6\server1\worldserver.conf

and you are looking for these 3 lines

it should be this for the repack

After updating to 2.5 Im stuck with " Bad Internet connection" With 2.4 it also got stuck at startup, but one restart and all was up and running. It looks like even that is says its loading the server files when you turn on the core, it seems like the sql never comes online. I did try to start sql myself, but it wont start up. comes with an error saying could not connect error 2003. I have another world running, with a seperate sql. when i turn that on, i have no problems starting my other world. I have all the programs needed to run a emu world and webpage. I do turn them all off, i recheck tasklist to see if it all is turned off. I had no problems running 2 diffrent worlds your 2.4 and my own. But now im stuck at bad internet connection.

I have seen that you have a enUS folder with realmlist in your repack, im running the uk one named enGB. Im not sure if that could have and reason for it not to work, it worked with 2.4, so i dont think it could be that. Now its just black screen with " Bad Internet Connection" Any others having this, maybe some one figured out what is wrong. Looks like the sql in mine is not starting, and i think more is not starting or working as it should. I did change the worldserver.conf as posted.

Well I got it to open up and I can get wow to log into wherever with my Wii account login apparently...

... I take it this is more of a Free way to play wow, than what I'm after - a way to sandbox wow / do things in wow you can do in a sandbox?

I wanna bet you cant use Gm commands right..? Im almost sure that its not your own WOw server you are logging into, but Mancents world you are logging into. I can log into a world using my Wii account too :-) And its deffently not my world :-) lol

Ahhh I was mistaken then. I don't understand why we run server stuff if it's not our own server to log into, but whatever. Looks like I'm back to square one, and thank you Germo.

Please anyone for help for two days trying to download path 2.4 or 2.5 and not fail me the download speed is around 29kB/sa after two hours of downloading to me, it hangs around 60-90% as ever. And I need BIG help from you from someone who managed to download the path. I ask you whether it was possible they patches upmout me somewhere else I would personally prefer repidshare.com, czshare.cz and very best would be if you're me, you can upload the patches uloz.to it would most appreciated thank you in advance for your help and willingness.

I have a test realm yes but you guys have your own server.
I messed up on the config files and didnt set them back to the default
but if you not smart enough to open up and change the config file and set it back to the correct password to load the world server. then well sorry for ya.

and if you register for a account for your own server and you can not login its because some thing is wrong.

you should check your database to see if your username and password was even set in the accounts table.

if its not there that could be the reason.
if it there you have a problem on your end.

I created a test realm for you all to have a base where if you want a good server you would be a GM there and you would fix the repack DB so all would have a good server.

And when you crash the test realm you show me missing pointers and bad coding.
I personal do not care if it works for you.
I suggest you learn how to read an config your server.

you need to have understanding what make a server work
PORTS IPS CODE SKILL DATABASE WEBSITES NETWORKING AND MUCH MORE GO LEARN COME BACK WHEN YOU KNOW SOMETHING.

And if you use the WIISTREAM website it is networked with the main site.. This way when you have 30 users register at your website and they login at your website they do not know that it is A NETWORK website..
all they know is you have hundreds of registered members. They can not download the repack from wiistream they can not launch wow from wiistream. all it is a a atomaticly updated website that you never have to worry about developing.
Its my personal fun project. i upload movies music and pictures and try to get the layout right.
Thats a gift to you guys so you can upload and make friends. you do not have to use it.

you can make any website you want and place it in the htdocs fodler.

First of all. I never said that your repack was bad. but you have to admit many people have the same problems.
I do know how to code in sql, PHP, and working with firewalls / routers and networking. I work with it every day. I only looked inside your world once for like 1 min. I never tochced anything.
I have set up many Emu worlds, and i do know alot about how to edit the conf files. I always get my worlds up and runinng.

I have all the needed programs to run a world and weppage. I actuelly have 5 diffrent pages im working on right now.
I also have 2 worlds running besides the one i got from here. i have a 3.3.5a and Skyfires / Pryds Cactus emu running with out any probs.

I think your world looks very exciting and its a new way to do things, thats why im trying it out. No one have ever made a repack in the way you have.
But something is wrong with the release. I did edit the conf files. They are all good. I went from a working release from your first repack release, then to one restart with 2.4 and now i cant get it to run. The startup core windows do say its loading all the files, but it wont start the sql.
I did recheck my access to my root, there is no problem there. I can load it from my explorer with no errors and have full access to 127.0.0.1 I also tested it with a program i have. No probs there.

I could take your world apart in small pieces and reload them into my other sqlsyog im using for my already installed sql server, but i would rather use yours in the way it was supposed to work, since i think its a great idea.
I do shutdown all my running programs that could interfeer with the startup of your world, and recheck tasklist to see if anyting is running. Its all shutdown. Im trying to find a way around this bad internet connection problem that your repack its giving me, but no luck so far.
