I play on a non-public server, just something to mess around with.
Just wondering how i could enter a raid such as Karazhan without a raid group

The only way that might be possible is to edit the instance in your actual server files to make it a 5 man but as far as I know, no one as figured out how to do this yet. However, you can always bring WoW up twice and log on two accounts, group and convert to raid and your in.

I have recently got the bug to start playing again and will be investigating a few private servers and reading as much as I can in these threads before I decide that I want to run my own. That said, I have searched, and cannot find, information on comparing the various EMU/Re-packs side by side. The posts and guides seem mostly straightforward, but to see an extended comparison side by side would be very helpful to someone like me.

Is there somewhere I can be directed to to view the core and extended differences in the emu's, level of difficultly setting up/managing, which one is for noobs like myself, better suited for advanced or detail oriented manageres, object importing, or whatever else I cannot think of right now?

I'm not looking for a sandbox, but neither am I looking for a Blizz clone. I am looking for an emu/pack that is relatively turnkey, not requiring 40 hours a week of micromanaging, and fairly under the expert curve, but closer to noob++.

I have the dedication to learn, but not the patience to acquire and implement every object, house, spawn, quest, etc. with working full time, trying to find someone to whisk my ex-wife away into another realm of existence, raise my son to respect teh rpg, and enjoy life with my wife of 10 years my younger (who enjoys playing WoW as well).

I'm just looking for something fun to put together and manage for some 50 regular people (up to 500 if ever we care to manage such growth, as we have 20K employees), but am somewhat lost in understanding the 3 listed options and various posts and how they can relate to making the right choice.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, does anyone know if I can keep the Real Version of Wow on my computer, unchanged and able to play; but also have an emu be stored and ran off an external hard drive?

U cant run it from an external hdd, it needs to be in the c drive, but u can switch to normal wow and private wow, its just changing ip's (or copy wow folder 2 times)

You can have WoW running of an external drive, just make sure its as fast as your main HD or it'll be pointless.

But some of my friends would like to be able to enter it... weve tried changing ip and stuff but they still cant connect somehow what am i doing wrong ?

Hi all!

Im a total WoW noob, i've never played the game nor have any idea on how to play it. But I wanted to try it out as "single-player" so as to avoid being sucked in (addicted) the multiplayer like so many people have.. Managed to get Julianx's Repack V5 set up and working by following the old V4 guide plus some common sense =) Just spent a while killing boars in a forest somewhere.. pretty game, me likes

Anyways, i had some st00pid questions.. First thing is I could not create either of the burning crusade characters, they were just greyed out, is there a way to get them working ? Or are they just not supported in Jualianx's repack yet ?

Also, could someone tell me (or point me to an info page) on how playing with this emulator is similar to playing alone on "real" (Blizzard) servers and whats do you miss besides other human players by using THIS emu/repack ?
(If theres a page with noob friendly repack comparisons/choosing guides id appreciate it!)

And finally, how do you find out which game version is best to use with a particular emu repack ? It's never mentioned anywhere..

Hi Mazzox! First of all welcome to the wanderful world of warcraft!

The issue regarding burning crusade probably has to do with either that you have not installed TBC, or that your pack doesn't support TBC (TBC=The Burning Crusade.) there are lots of good guides that explains this. First of all, let me recommend that if you decide to set up a new one, then use Antrix. That guide is a good one, just make sure you do it EXACTLY RIGHT.

2 your second question. You arent rly missing that much. You miss a great comunity and a lot of fun group play. you miss the chanse to get some new friends and to experience all the awsome dungeons the way that they are supposed to be (With a full group of people playing.) You will also miss some game mechanics that the maker of the private servers havent made to remake. Beond that, there isnt much you miss.

3: You are going to use the latest patch for the link to the server i gave you! It works best and you can add loads of cool stuff.
