I dont seem to understand I start it up and it says put in <Some Letter> for a character database thingy then it does the error I posted.

Does this have anything to do with anything That red thing?

that just means that the svn version of that file differs from the offical version or you have edited it, so if you svn update again later on, it will over right that file to the orginal version, best bet is to copy all the files to a new folder, and delete the .svn file whats hidden, so your gonna have to show all hidden files from folder options and then its all good.

Also if you got phpMyadmin, goto that, click on priviages and then click your account, you can change the password easy, then just change it via the config files.

also what mysql are you using? or are you using a a package like WAMP? as im using wamp for all my server files, and im running like 4 cores and i have like 10 dbs on my wamp xD and it helps alot swtiching thu them all and stuff.

first of all the folder Venice 2.3.0 .rar inside of it , each of thoes rar has version 2.3.0 database. all you have to do is extract all thoes rar inside the folder called " Database " .

Same thing with folder Venice 2.3.0.1 which is just updates to 2.3.0. <- do the same thing put them inside Database folder.

lol Than run The Venice Importer 2.3.0.1.

ok frist off, what type of mysql are you using?
are you using the standalone downloaded version from mysql?
or are you using a repack version like WAMP?

also how did you install teh DB? or havnt you yet?

what i think you should do, unistall that mysql, download sumthing like WAMP, since its really easy to install, and it has phpmyadmin, apache "for hosting websites via your pc" and Mysql and PHP, and setting the passwords and everything is a easy as one two three.

as at the moment, your unable to connect, so use sumthing that you can edit easyer, instead of posting stuff like you have.

And once you get sumthing that works, make sure your config is done corrrectly like this...


"username = the name of any mysql account user your using, like defult its ROOT"
"password = the password of the mysql account your using"
"Name = Whats the name of the database name corresponding to what is needed, "world" needs the world database "character" needs your character DB"

and allways make sure the dbs are correctly named, and also installed, you wont be able to load the core without the dbs being installed correctly

basicly what to do is goto your venice folder, then goto "Venice Database"
then goto venice 2.3.0.1 and then once inside the folder, ul have 4 files, all .RAR folders highlight them all and leftclick "Extract here"
Then do the same for 2.3.0 folder
once there all extracted go back to "Venice Database" folder
find the EXE called "Venice importer {2.3.0.1}"
right click it and edit. then find these lines

*****************Just edit these**************************
*****************Venice Team******************************
set user=root -----This has to be your USER for mysql
set pass=scrolllock ------This has to be your password for MYSQL
set wdb=venice ------This is WORLD the Database name its got to install to
set cdb=venice ----- This is the Character database it needs to install to
**********************************************************

after that, Save it

Then open it up ul have sum text, basicly press w frist
once done it will go back to the start, and go thu the list.

after that your DB will be installed

normaly this is a error with windowsSP2 when it hasnt rollback correctly....
Try deleting all of the svn you downloaded, make a folder in your c:\ drive and then reupdate. see if that solves the error, il check on mircosofts site and see if theres anything via there that can help you.
