In around 5 days I will hopefully have an account with beta access, Master647 and I will look into it (if someone doesn't beat us to it). We have a pretty good idea of how the login code works.
In java, I've managed to make it request realm list. I'm trying to make it atleast send a realm; but every time I try it's closing the socket at the clients end... Well, To be honest... I've so far barely been able to alter the packets from the log, it'd seem they're encrypted...
encryption has been changed yes, but I will work on it in the next days, but have not so much time :/
Would you or one of the others be able to explain what goes into making a sandbox? Only if you have any spare time and would be willing to do so, of course :P Even a link to wikipedia would be neat. I am fairly competent in C++ although I am still learning some major parts of it. I have no knowledge of networking and I have had a hard time trying to finding tutorials or books on the subject.
Does anyone here know java that would be wanting to continue this? It's not really worth it though...
well blizzard sent out another 250k invites hope to see a sandbox soon!
I just got my beta access today if someone would like to use it towards the MoP Sandbox, just send me a PM, (I will only give it to those that are contributors, legendary users, or donators.)
Encryption still being an ass, don't know if it can be done in pure java; Will try in c++ to build a native library...
It's going to require c++ / c# to properly do more then likely. Best bet would be to attempt to build off of a working emulated server's source code.
I got my beta access, so if you guys want a few more captures of the whole login->world progress, let me know.
Well, The more of the exact same process, the easier the encryption to figure out.
