MoP Sandbox

That packetdumper doesn't seem to work at all. I ran a virustotal scan of it prior to running it, and then ran a few of my other tools on it - nothing malicious (aside from some false positives)... can't get it to run without just popping up a window and exiting immediately.

Why would it be a virus? King is developing the core to get Mists supported. More than trustworthy.

Ok tryed it but it does nothing flash a prompt window and gone

The executable might be closing before you can read a error.

Go to command prompt -> navigate to where the exe is:

cd C:\Users\Harry\Desktop\

Then run the program

program.exe

Alternatively, you can just type in the entire program path straight away:

C:\Users\Harry\Desktop\program.exe

Anyway, the command prompt window won't close so any messages sent by the program will be displayed in there.

Same problem for me. I guess the binary is messed up, maybe it's missing something critical. I'll take a look at it in IDA.
In the mean time, it seems that I keep getting a corrupted alternate.mpq file, so I'm unable to get very far past entering the world - even if I delete my alternate.mpq file, it crashes out. At least I got the packets sniffed in wireshark. Next step is to get the strawberry packet dumper working :/

I get nothing. just a blank line. (\n)

Edit: For starters, the exe file references "ljh.dll", and not 'ijh.dll", which is what comes in the zip file... even with the file renamed, I still get nothing.

Guys the good thing is that we are getting somewhere, i still cant help that much. I didnt bought Annual Pass. But i do have some friends that could borrow me their account with MoP beta

It loads, but just says [Start, Base]:, and doesn't seem to do anything at all.

I FINALLY got the sniffer working, and have sent king48488 the dump, so we should be getting some sort of support sooner rather than later :P

Stupid question, but i'm really not savy with this sandbox development stuff. Once he gets this "dump" file, what exactly does that mean? Like a missing key of some sort? Now he can finish the sandbox and release it?

Developing a sandbox without packetlogs is essentially a guess and check minus whatever the client actually contains on its own (which isn't much). Now that Fabi has some packets to sort through, he'll have a much easier time reversing important parts of the sandbox (like packets for character creation and realm selection).
