Hey guys.
After cataclysm destroyed all hopes for successful private servers back when this was originally planned - we are planning to bring this back to life, new and revamped.
The main ideas that this server will aim for and hopefully successfully deliver:
- Unique and original layout, spells, items, and objectives.
- Exciting, or at least somewhat interesting storyline that makes you care, and not just blindly shrug at.
- Being able to jump right into the action as you start your character - no leveling or any other fuss.
Things we will NOT do, because they are simply not fun:
- Open world one-sided PvP in Gurubashi, this has completely ran its course.
- Donor gear that makes people immortal, or at all better than anyone else. We dont want people to donate to become good, we want them to care.
- Leveling, farming epix or running around buying all the best epix in a rehashed mall - this. is. not. fun.
As for the original idea of different brackets, this is being looked at - we want to provide people means of progression but this perhaps wont be the best way.
We have come up with several different thoughts on how to do this but we're sticking to only 1 level for every for the time being.
The original server had over 100 custom items players can pick and choose as they start, the main idea being that we dont really want players to have an obvious disadvantage for being new,
this isnt fun for the new player or neccessarily for the old ones, being able to start a character and jump into the action is an important goal of ours.
It also had completely custom battlegrounds, 1 being a horde vs ally BG and 1 being a FFA kill-on-sight BG, both of these had *random* spawn points and a player would ressurect automatically 10 seconds after they died.
This encourages players to play recklessly and not have to fear a 30 second respawn timer on the other side of the map, this also isnt neccessarily fun.
We also had things such as BG announcements, power-ups that spawn randomly and provide a random buff (A heal, a damage boost or a speed increase).
There is a lot more to say, we didnt even begin to describe the custom dungeon systems and questing areas (non of this bring 10 bear asses rubbish to get epix rubbish).
All this is the general idea of where we are going, what we have and what we want to achieve, to do this we will need to put in a lot of hard work and will need help (be it item creaters, developers, coders or testers that make sure everything is appropriately tuned.)
