I just ran across this video and thought I'd post it, and maybe do a quick update on Battlefield 3's beta and so forth. Check out the video!
Alright! I just thought I'd let everyone know, I don't have any updates on Battlefield 3, but I was reading up on it somewhere and someone called EA/DICE and they won't give a beta release date. I'd imagine it'll be at sometime in October, purely off speculation though.

Hello fellow Owner's! Dr. Doom coming at you with another article about Diablo 3 Beta and letting you get a little sneak peak about what you should expect to see in the latest Diablo 3 Beta Phishing attempts. The people trying to scam your information are using Email. They are emailing letters to those of us in an attempt to snag our Battle.Net information for their own gains. Here is what you should expect to see in your email, these emails are often filtered into your "Trash/Spam" section, but some may get through to your "Inbox". Sorry if you have to squint a little, but I have to follow strict guidelines for images within my articles.
They are pretty easy to spot, because Blizzard Entertainment wouldn't go about that type of invitation system. You will most likely get an email that looks a LOT more professional and redirects you to a Battle.net link. As the phishers become more advanced, keep a better eye out for the fishy looking emails, no pun intended.

It's pretty general, but you'll want to focus on the "Web Spider" information. A spider is a program that can search for terms strictly relating to "@hotmail.com" "@gmail.com" and many more. It makes a list and people can use this for either good or bad. Primarily bad. Just thought I'd make a quick informative article for the public as we expect to see more official Diablo 3 Beta invites soon. I understand I may have talked about this with the "breaking news" article, but I didn't go into more depth with it.
What do you think? Will the phishers get more advanced as time goes on? Either way, just keep a closer eye out as more idea's and hacks come to the surface. We don't like seeing people get hacked! Thanks to my loyal readers and commenters!

I was suddenly alerted as I opened my WoW client and was about to login and to my surprise I saw, "BREAKING NEWS!" My first thought is, "oh great, more restarts or maintenance? downtime?" After a little bit of reading I had come to find out that I was being informed of Diablo 3 phishers by Blizzard Entertainment! This is purely speculation, but could that mean we might have our beta sooner than later? It could mean there is a huge increase of scam emails, but in all honesty, how much do you think Blizzard cares for your account integrity? The image shown here is what alarmed me, and made the immediate thought of, "BETA SOON?! NAO?!"
At this point, you have to choose what side of the bridge your going to cross. Do you want to be that crazy conspiracy theorist like Dr. Doom or do you want the FACTS and what we DO know? I would really like you guys to cross my side of the bridge, so I shall enlighten everyone with some information to back up my side of the bridge. No tinfoil hats needed.
Dr. Doom Side Possibilities:
- Blizzard could be watching out for our accounts well being and just posting to make the community aware of the situation. In Dr. Doom's mind, I'm thinking, "so there is an increase of phishing scams, does that mean someone knows something I don't?" Also, it could mean Blizzard wants us to keep an eye out for the REAL beta invites!
- Blizzard might be hinting to the community, and its in this little breaking news on the WoW login.
- Here is some more 'factual' information to help back my theory. This could be Blizzard bringing awareness that the Diablo 3 Beta is soon and that we should be watching our emails, because like their product slate says, it's coming out in Quarter 4, which would be in November. That is a reasonable amount of time for the beta to go on, and have a release of a product. I attended Blizzcon 2010 and they announced that their will be a release of Diablo 3 within the next year, hence it's 2011. Check out the Blizzard Product Slate that was leaked, for those of us who haven't already been enlightened by it.
That's all the information I have to back my side of the bridge, so you can go with Dr. Doom the nut job who likes to formulate his own speculations and creating excitement for others, or you can go with the facts and what's been announced side of the bridge. Which will probably just cause you stress and feeling of sadness! It is all up to you the reader, and I am more than welcoming all of you to walk with me on my side to the darkness of the Pits of Hell in Diablo 3 Beta awareness!
What is everyone's opinion on this? Do you think my speculation and conspiracies could be leading to something?! Or do you think I am going bonkers and losing a sense of reality? I'd love to hear anyone's opinion on whether or not they think this breaking news has anything to do with the actual Diablo 3 Beta, or if they have formulated their own speculations. As the title says, the 2nd SWTOR Beta Weekend has been cancelled/nullified, whichever you prefer to call it. Rockjaw, the alias for Stephen Reid, Senior Online Community Manager for SWTOR, laid some heavy news on the community forum announcing that there was not going to be a Beta Weekend this weekend. Rockjaw has shattered the hopes and dreams of the anxious millions! Those of you who were hoping for a beta key this weekend, that is now out of the question as well. During the announcement they also said future Beta Weekends are simply not guaranteed. I'm sure they went a head and said "not guaranteed" because it takes some weight off developments shoulders and doesn't let the fans get their hopes up. Here is the announcement made to the public:
Hello all,
There is no Beta Testing Weekend scheduled for this weekend. There may be further Beta Testing Weekends during September, but we’re not going to guarantee it. The weekend that just finished was really our first dry run of Beta Testing Weekends as a whole, and we have plenty of data to crunch, and decisions to make before we start things up again.
Further to that, as Chris Collins explained in another thread, we are about to roll out a major new build for The Old Republic That build won’t be ready for this weekend. Just as we did not feel it was a good decision to ask potential EU testers to download our client only to have to download it again, the same applies for this weekend.
That does not mean, however, that as soon as our new build is available we’ll be rolling out a Beta Testing Weekend immediately. As with any new build of the game, we need to get feedback from internal testing and our ongoing Game Testing program before rolling it out to a massive audience. That process takes a while, and that time varies depending on how testing goes.
We rolled out this previous weekend as a relatively small scale event; from now we will do bigger and bigger events, but that doesn’t mean it happens every weekend. When we do resume, we’ll be inviting many more people in.
While many of you are excited and anxious to know what’s happening regarding Testing Weekends, I want to point out that a lot of posts on the subject with a lack of corresponding posts from us does not mean that we’re not listening, or not aware of your interest. It shows your interest in the topic, which is understandably high, but we will not always be able to react instantaneously.
In the past couple of days we’ve been preparing a comprehensive FAQ regarding Game Testing Weekends as a whole, along with some details about the weekend that just happened. We’ll post that tomorrow – in all languages, as we know the subject is of interest to everyone.
Apparently there is a new major build being added to the game, and requires a new patch or installer, something along those lines. Supposedly what all testers currently have is an obsolete build of the game, so there's going to be a new release. The community was promised Beta Weekends every weekend when SWTOR had their presence at PAX.
At this point in time, our user "Mighty Bear" might be onto something, concluding that SWTOR may be hurting itself. This is an article that can be added to one of those reasons. There has been speculation as to the release date being pushed back because of this. The EU testing is also being held up for whatever reason, meaning a further release date for them as well. Stephen Reid said there weren't going to be any Beta Weekends until further notice, ouch.
I understand development of a game is very important, but pulling the communities strings like puppets isn't one way to handle a situation. There will definitely be some major rumors after everyone hears about this and complains on the forums, trying to speculate on things they have no power over.
