    Lua for MaNGOS

As Lua for MaNGOS has become a more and more popular request from users of the MaNGOS core, I have set up a special forum for those interested in developing a Lua scripting engine for ManGOS, so that you can collaborate. You can find us located at:

    Lua for MaNGOS - Index.

Why would you even want Lua on Mangos?

I'm merely providing for those who are looking for this functionality. I get on better using Lua over C++ myself, at least, using LuaHypArc.

I'm learning C++ at the mo, slowly, and I get along somewhat well at the mo using Lua. I would like an alternative to use every once in a while on MaNGOS, as I, and many others haven't completely grasped C++, but may have some skills with Lua.

Sound good, but I'm wondering how your converting it over without that strong a grasp of C++. Also most of the audience who want Lua only want it for the simple things such as teleporter npc's. I feel this is a complete waste of functionality, since LuaHypArc and previous Lua engines (not so much) give you so much more. Good luck!

Well, I personally will probably not be contributing until I learn more about C++, I'm giving those that have the abilities to contribute a place to collaborate.

I have used LuaHypArc for all sorts of things in the past myself, teleporters included.

I do not know how this will fan out yet, it could become it's own Lua engine, or merely a port of LuaHypArc. Who knows?
