Code it in assembly.
Unless, you're like...a mediocre coder.
Isn't assembly just another synonym for mediocrity?
At this point I'm going to virtually facepalm and ignore your post altogether
I win this thread.
Lol, the whole thread here is one big flame. It's redicolous that you guys are arguing about this. The Red came with an idea on how to basically improve current emulators or create a new emulator with all this features together, to make a very good emulator. Stop talking about crap that doesn't point in the direction of The Red's view. You guys talk about why he says all this when "there's allready emulators who can do that and that!" Thats not the point! The point is to find all the unqiue quality things from each and one of the emulators and put it together as one great emu. Because, if you listen carefully to most of the emu-developing communities today, you might actually experience the massive flaming wars between several different emus, because all of them dislikes each others!
For instance, lets have a quick look at Arcemu, well yea, its a decent developer community, the developers working on Arcemu are experienced people who knows how to work out from client packets and how to improve and patch they're emu, but if you visit their mIRC channel, you would probably notice another thing they are experienced at, first of, to flame other emulators, and secondly, to flame newcomers at arcemu, and help them out as little as possible, if not at all.
So merging all the emulators and making them want to co-operate would be allmost impossible, (I won't say "would be impossible", would probably be flamed then, as "nothing is impossible blablabla") as the developers and leaders of each of these emu's are too greedy and ego to share and work together with other emulators! Now instead of using energy and time on flaming The Red for coming with and idea that's actually great but requires a lot of time and great knowledge to emulator structures, client and server packets, scripting, coding and so on, try to focus on how to find even more improvements for a great emu with all-emu-gathered quality features. And quit the god damn flaming. And don't talk about what a random emulator has got of the things The Red pointed out, that random emu doesn't have it all, and thats what The Reds idea is all about, to create an emu with all the improving features!
Oh yea, btw The Red, that color thingy, a bit unecessary, color shouldn't really matter, but no point in starting a flame war just for that small sentence!
Now I won't say anymore, I will probably be flamed to death, but w/e, worth trying putting some facts into youre flaming heads.
Lots of flame lol.. >.<

The problem with your point is that nobody wants a monopoly, they want a choice as to what emulator they should choose. There will be questions about how to do things, what to implement, and how it should be run. Take MaNGOS for example, some people disagreed on whether they should make it multi-threaded. So they started their own emulator. Sure, it would be great, but it is a fairytale dream. I agree with you on the point of useless flames between emulators and their supporters, however. Emulators could help each other out a little more, but joining forces isn't a good idea.
umm just my opinion, but those guys all prolly copy off of each other anyways...
For me the perfect emulator would be the one who managed to get rid of the two big BUGS in currently emulators and they are:
1) Proper collision support for LOS and other calculations
2) NPC Pathfinding algorithm, no more npcs walking through walls or unpassable terrain
As far as I know those two were here in every emu since the beginning of time. Other things can be fixeable.
The perfect emulator would be working for blizz, becoming a dev, and jacking there shit.
My point: There is no perfect emulator. There never will be.
Stop bumping this ****ing thread. It was well on it's way to dying.
You know what, you're all wrong.
Let's all learn Java and code for runescape private servers instead. (Y)
