i've seen it. I have it. All you guys who said "you can't just install an addon and magically have GM powers" are right. It's not that.

However, it CAN be used to get and/or use GM powers. It requires a bit of crafty-ness though.

Get someone stupid enough to download your trojan addon and woopie, you can access them (WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY IN GAME AND THE ADDON IS ENABLED)

I have my guess and when i see your comment i think it could be right, this software doesnt provide just magically gm powers to everyone who use this addon.

It just gives access to servers who have infected or hacked gm accounts and send the rights of gm powers to the user of this addon or it has some kind of programm installed to hack such gm accounts aswell.

But, i dont care really since i dont use hacks to play wow.

This is basic security 101: If I can run code on your machine, it's not your machine anymore. You'd need your infected addon being pretty popular yet hidden. And trust me, once they take a look at their logs, anyone with a little common sense can deduct he's infected.

This 'hack' is more of a scam; After all, you'll need to convince GMs to install your infected addon without anybody looking at the source (which is open, might I remind you).

tl;dr: Of course it could work, nothing new here

What about all the retail stuff:

Chatspy/Controle: read the targets chat and/or takeover his chat: all messages will be sent to you and you can response to them (with your targets name)

-Trade Gold: get in trade range of your target and he'll trade you X gold

-execute lua code on targets client

-disconnect target

-Kill wow: execute crash code. your target will not be able to connect to any server after this!

-Mega lag target's client.

-Close wow/ loggout

-AFK ON: for battlegrounds (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

-Block Report: Your target can't report you to gms (in tickets), in channels, ect...

-Get guild rights: If your target is guild leader he will grand you max rights

-Fake GM: make your target believe you are gm

The reason that he says he can have another player say trade him gold, or give him guild rights no doubt depends on that person having an "infected" addon. I am unfamiliar with addons and how you are able to do such things, but would he be able to do something such as /gleader or /trade?

He might be able to execute slash commands, i'm not sure whether Blizzard has that under lock and key, but he can't do anything on the trade frame.

Yeah thats a hack for retail, dont see how a hack like that can work

its very simple
for example u send a command to the target that got ur addon instaleld
the addon hooks the incoming messages or the events
so u are send a command "Logout_" into pm or what ever u want
then the trojan addon will catch this command

something like:
--hook events or inc messages
if event == "OUR EVENT THAT WE WANT TO HOK"
...
if inc_mess == "Logout_" then
Logout(); --force the client to logout
end
...
