[Research] 1.12.1 Emu Servers

Yea, I found a great guide for 1.12.1 server from these forums (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...ng-retail.html). Got my server up and running really easy.

Problem is though, I can't find a way to add scripts for the server. The mangos version is so old (I guess? Itäs 2804 IIRC). I'm really noob about these things, but atleast I didn't find a way to get ScriptDev2 working for my mangos build.

Guess I need to try and find a repack that works on 1.12.1 patch and supports scripting

EDIT: Just read the thread again, and I'm going to try TrinityZero. Anyone knows if it supports custom scripting well? Because as I said, I couldn't find a way to add scripts for the ManGOS repack I posted about earlier :P

yes Trinity-Zero support "custom" scripts....
...althought, they will give hardly direct support for those...
I mean, you can write your own scripts, but do not expect help from the Trinity-Zero team members

Your repack should "allow" custom scripts as well.
As far as I know, scriptdev (or scriptdev2) was already in at that time, although, not so good as actual ScriptDev2. (in the meanwhile, i think ACID was introduced, to handle basics AI).
You should just start writing your compatible C++ scritps

Anyway, best way is to use Trinity-Zero, and if you're good enought, join their forum and try to help them.

I wanna rememeber you all, that create a Vanilla-WoW server is all, but easy...
Get the old feeling back would be an ENORMOUS task, but it's worth it, imo...

This sucks for me... Fresh install of WoW for me and its instantly at 2.0.0

Any suggestions on how to downgrade for me then without finding a torrent for the 1.12.1 client, as ive always wanted to have a REAL pre-tbc server.

Sadly, if you bought wow after the release of tbc, you're stuck with 2.0. If you read some of the previous pages, people have hosted 1.12 clients. You can download one of those.

Ok, i got hold of a core and database. The only major problems i see are when you log off then back on, your action bars become empty even if you save your character, also there is a few creature spawns that need re doing but part from that everything seems fine.

If anyone is starting up a project for bringing back Pre-TBC i will be more then happy to help out as much as i can.

Best bet is to buy a copy of pre-tbc wow on ebay, if you can find one...
