Any ideas?

Of course theres going to be a way around, there always ways around, how do you think other private servers for other games work? WOTLK will be a challenge yes but I'm sure the devs will get around it.

Every time I start WoW up after setting a custom realmlist in \WTF\config.wtf it automatically changes back to the default... wtf!

Even if they did remove it, you could use the hosts file to redirect logon.worldofwarcraft.com to whatever IP you want

Or make a new realmlist in /data/enus, thats where it reads now.

(or change the folder depending on language)
