Need MySQL help

Okay i have all components ready to make a working server but 1 and i really need help. What happens is i run MySQL server setup and it goes fine. MySQL Server instance config all the crap (Standard config, pswrd, blah blah blah).
I click execute and

Prepare config file

Write Config file (location)

Start Service

Apply Security settings

ive tried everything i can think of it says i have error 2003 cannot connect to mySQL server on localhost.


I would reeeeeeeealy appreciate any help and will +Rep the one who fixes.

This happens to me alot try: Ctrl + Alt + Delete then processes then mysql-nt.exe and end it, then try it

Will try and edit a +rep if it works

Yep this is a common error
Do what that person said or if you really want to start over if that didn't work then uninstall all mysql servers you find in Programs/Apps or w/e

ok delete that current instance then remake a new one that ALWAYS fixes it for me and my emu buddies

Okay i tried all posted fixes and +repped too soon. none of them worked. i didnt even see mysql-nt.exe and the remake it thing didnt work either. Really Need Help

okay i had to do this. i have it working now. i reinstalled and just tried a new installation. nothing. deleted that one and before i tried it again i looked for mysql-nt.exe for good measure and i didnt find it but i did find mysqld-nt.exe and ended it. then tried it again and it worked so i will +rep all ppl who posted potential fixes because i used them all.

Try saving the installltion file on your desktop then running it as an administrator

Most computers you can right click the file and click run as administrator etc.

But theres other ways which I dont feel like explaining atm.
