can't connect to mysql server

every time i start the server logonserver and ascent server it gives me a message can't connect to mysql server , and the server startup will not work , please help

Make sure your mysql server is actually up and the confs are correct

that doesnt help me at all , mysql wont log on

If MySQL doesnt work you need to go to step one, Reconfigure the instance, make sure it works, if Navicat connects then your good to go, one that connect and your still not connecting to your server when you boot the ascent.exe you need to make sure that the username and passwords are correct
