Navicat Loophole?

I'm sure this has been gone over; but are there any easy methods for getting around the Navicat 30-day trial (other than buying it, duh)? Its pretty integral to the whole server running process... >_<

Any help or direction to previous posts would be awesome!

You probably will have to get a keygen, maybe? Im not sure because I use SQLYog.

i find it odd you talk about doing things legally on a forum designed for people who break the rules. not so sure about emulation being illegal though...

If it was really illegal? Why does WoWscape even exist? Their servers are hosted in the US. It maybe or maynot, but IMO its a grey area.

i disagree. if it were illegal blizzard would do something about it.

they hand you the resources to play the game and while they can dis-allow service to you should you break the rules (as stated in the ToS) they can't do much more then that unless some sort of copyright infringement takes place. (ie renaming world of warcraft to arigitys uber game)

Well, don't freak. At the most, they will IP ban you, but on most cases they will simply ban your exsisting account if you have one. The government will not prosecute you or anything. WoWscape has been sued and they blamed Ascent, and got away with it. Only reason they were sued is because they were making 35,000 dollars a month.

Burlex owns WoWscape and ascent, so he blamed himself?

Umm no. Its your software you payed for it, you can use it anyway you want. You using it, the way you want to. Your not copying it, your not distrubuting it. So your not breaking any copyrights.
That info thread, was lacking hard facts, didnt even cite specific things from the TOU. I didn't even agree to it. Who says the TOU is even a law?

normally when you lose a case in court for doing something its because the thing you were doing was completely within the limit of the law.

also isn't there like some kind of law against suing someone twice for the same thing O.o

at any rate i can't really see the two differ. as hosting a server and emulating a server while both explicitly not allowed by the ToS can't really get you sued because then you could get sued for anything that would break it.

the way i see it, is that even though what we are doing is against blizzards policy its not against any actual law. it doesn't seem logical to make something illegal just because it breaks a games rules.
