How to make a server populated

Hi there

i just created another private server 5 days ago and registred the server in all kind of toplists like xtremetop100 etc.

I wonder, how other private servers raise their population on the server.
In my opinion is this the hardest part of running a private server.

Everyone flames about bugs, but how can we fix them, if players dont repot them? It's kinda circle..

So if you got tipps and hints, i would be very pleased

* Register your server on toplists like xtremetop100.com etc.
* Register your server on wowstatus.net
* give a reward to the first 30 players on your server.

Good question.

To be honest I didn't had this kind of problem. When I started I had 100+ players in just two weeks while at start only some friends knew about it.

Votes help but the thing is to keep your current players happy since they will spread to other players / friends how good your server is.

Keep it updated and they will come by themself.

Well, i tried to reward some of the first players on the server, didn't really work ^^
