Disable your firewall

Lol thats the easy way out.....try making sure ur ports are forwarded properly
Go to PortForward Guides

Find your router (If you have one) , Then find "World of Warcraft", and follow their instructions but use the server ports instead of the ones they list for the client.

Try changing 'ascent-realms.conf':

Port = "8093"
Name = "Default Logon"
RealmCount = "1">

1. Open Ascent-realms.conf with notepad.
2. find this:

<LogonServer Address = "localhost"
Port = "8093"
Name = "Default Logon"
RealmCount = "1">

3. Change the localhost to 127.0.0.1!
4. Save it and try running the server and connecting...

hmmm... i maybe got a solution for this problem, i had a common one. for me they stuck at either retrieving character list or when they log on they characters they get disconnect when fully loaded. I got this problem fixed somehow. Well, i had Comodo firewall uninstalled but i could still see the process in taskmanager. i closed it in taskmngr and ev erything worked like a charm! So, send me any processes that you are suspicous about and i can look it up for you, or do it yourself! Hope this helps you out!:wave:
