    mob Health and XYZ

Hi i was just playing around with a simple bot. i have hit a road block with the data relating to mobs. i understand from Google that every mob has its own ID which then breaks down to your mob health and XYZ of the mob. but i did not find anything that will help you find where that is. which is why i am posting here. trying to find how i can get say the closest mob or the 2 closes mobs and the data on them such as health and where they are.

i am ok with cheat engine and finding pointers and multi-level pointers. i already have them for health and mana and level. sadly i need to know how to target mobs and know when they are dead.

What are you thinking when you post a question like this? There is even a thread on the first page of posts directly related to noobs ... read before posting. Especially read the forum rules before coming back.

    xyz

Hi, thank you for the help. but sadly i did read that already. so i am going to go in more depth with you in the a hope that you know more about this. i just did not want to get in to a complex question that people wont under stand.

what i have is the code to get the base address for wow thanks to gononono64 and his unnamed friend who i can only guess are god for getting it. if it is right i don't know but i am getting this "0x0000000001060000" now i under stand that from that i add an offset to get the object manager or well 2 offsets. now from that i know that it take another offset for my health, my mana, and mobs health and mana. working down the XYZ of the mobs and that of my self. but i getting my problems with the offsets. my problem is in finding the offsets. now there is a page
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...mp-thread.html ([WoW][4.0.6.13623] Info Dump Thread)
which has all the info from the client. but i cant tell which is which. that is my main problem. it would also be nice if i could figure out where that data come from. but when i worked out the pointers for health the last address is 00d0d1cc with an offset of 140. that is fare from the address for my base wow address. anyway i am not sure if you can help or not but if you can i have a vent server and i have scype i would not mind talking if you are willing.
Your question is not too complex. It is the reverse. Too simple, and everything you need to know is already on the forum as well as 90% of it is already in that post you refer to from gononono64. (which you need to re-read very carefully, by the way). The un-named person he mentions is me. I had no problem helping him because at least he had the bare minimum knowledge needed to succeed. I just pushed him in the right direction. You, however, need to do more reading on this forum, and especially learn about how memory works and more about programming in general before asking or PMing again. Your knowledge base seems to be severely lacking for posting here.

You ask "where do the offsets come from?" the answer is magic. People conjure them up, collaborate and decide which ones to tell us about...

These are the threads that helped me the most when I first started out here. On that note, I spent 3 months simply reading here before I ever even made an account to post.

Finally: This should be obvious but I'll say it anyway to make this post fool-proof. When you read a tutorial or something on this forum that uses a certain offset value, make sure you look at the date it was posted and / or the version tag (if there is one) of the offset used. If you decide to copypasta the tutorial code, you need to grab the updated offset from the latest dump thread, or motivate yourself to reverse engineer the offset yourself (Which is what this forum is all about).
