    I herd a little bird saying that new server side detection system have been applied for the upcomming patch.


    Killing Z offset modification
    Killing Velocity modification
    Killing Fall speed elevation modification
    Killing speed hacking.

    Interesting.

    I have theories on how to bypass some of these, should be interesting. Its nice to see Blizzard are finally cracking down on this shit.

    I just don't understand, Doesn't Blizzard make enough money as it is? Why they got to go and destroy everything that people have build and made after so many years ^_^

    Because they're in the same boat as us. They created the game we hack. And they don't want us hacking. They can do whatever they want with their software. All the more power to them. It's about damned time Blizzard started adding serverside checks for hacking.

    It easily could. All Blizzard needs to do is track positions over time. (AkA: Relative speed)

    And all speedhacks, wallclimbs, etc, would be out the window. No matter how good your warden protection is. Serverside can't be circumvented. (Though, if they're sending packets to the client to check said things, that's a different story, and shouldn't be too hard to get around.)

    I agree, Blizzard are well within their rights to do this, it's their game.

    Could you explain how this how be able to track wall climbs? Assuming you didn't move at unreasonable speed, it wouldn't be able to see excessive speeds or increases in z values that were too large.

    Depends on how its implemented and how much time we intend to dedicate to working around it. But one things for certain, now they've started cracking down theres no way you're getting your grubby little hands on any working bypasses.

    In some cases it can be circumvented with some clever packet spoofs or client hooks. Again, it all depends on the implementation.

    Indeed, about time. I was expecting this stuff shortly after launch, when bubba's hack was running rampant, not 2 expansions later.
