Well most users in here use public frameworks. Thats something else but stealing stuff from others (like debugging or disassembling others work) and re-selling it is not okay.

sure it's okay. he failed to include any obfuscation or any anti-debug mechanisms.

You can enter any WinDbg command via IDA (there is a text box at the bottom of IDA) (excluding a few ones). Just use the WinDbg 'a' command.

Are you implying it's ok to rob a house because the door was unlocked? In the real world you get arrested, i don't know what world you're living in though.

are you actually trying to put the internet and real world jurisdictions on an eye to eye level? software companies reverse engineer other companies software on a daily basis to employ their tactics, do you see these people in prison? no

I think you need to take a stroll on down to your local law enforcement center, tell them there is trouble on mmowned.com

Yes ofcourse i'm putting them eye to eye and governments and justice departments do so aswell. Internet or not it all involves interhuman relations, regulation exists and is expanded as time passes. It is theft, if you can prove it's your intellectual property you'll have a good case.
I've seen the internet grow from only a few 1000 pages with no laws about it to what it is today with a lot of regulation, it hasn't quite caught up yet but don't be fooled to think that it will remain as free as it is today.

Just because it's not illegal doesn't mean it's ethical.

the point I was trying to pass with what happened between those 2 users on this forum is that having your software cracked is generally in most cases inevitable, and loading it up with obfuscation and other tricks only puts cracked copies at bay for perhaps a longer period of time.

I just wanted him to realize what happens in the real world, that spending the time to include these mechanisms when you go to market with your software is going to be the noticeable difference of whether or not it shows up on the pirate bay 2 days later, or the customers have nowhere to go except you, for the software you wrote. This isn't to say.. that all customers would steal it if they could (i.e. tbp and others) there just is unfortunately a great amount that will.

and that was the case that happened between those two. not only was there no said mechanisms, he left debugging symbols in his build. honestly, what do you expect?

and yes cypher i agree it is unethical. but this is something people do unfortunately.
