GCD hack on 3.3.5a live servers with VIDEO/combatlog proof

On a US realm the change appears to be purely visual. It takes away the visual delay and appears that you can use an attack faster but the game doesn't actually accept the attack any quicker than without it.

Tested with a DK and a Mage, no improvement in casts per minute or actual dps because of the change, so I'll chalk it up to this just doesn't work in the US servers? I don't see why it would anywhere else either tho.

While I have had similar suspicions, I will note that while doing Argent Tournament Dailies, I'm able to charge multiple times in the space of one GCD, though I'm not sure whether this is due to the hack or my high ping from this location.

It also seems like my buffs are cast more quickly when buffing the raid, but again, perhaps it's just in my head.

I am Ssateneth.. got kicked off the site for trying to share quite an awesome hack that shall remain nameless. Anyways, back on track, yes I can confirm this. Been doing it for a few weeks now since I have my Xpadder spam on my 1 and 3 keys. I can sometimes get 3 or 4 charges off in one cooldown and one-shot some higher HP mobs in ToC/ToC dailies. Also, thanks for keeping this thread alive. I love how the one thread is claiming that GCD hacks don't work. Seeing that wowmetersonline and other sites use /combatlog and Recount uses a form of it, it's funny to say that even wowmeters is fake then.

Tried this and it didn't work for me. Would like help getting it to work.
Used the .jar file and it came up with the app. Patched OK but still no reduction in the GCD. I used my enhance shaman + quartz with the GCD timer to check. Spells would have a 1 second GCD due to the amount of haste I had, but melee abilities still had the 1.5 second GCD.
I downloaded the MPQ file and put it in Data\enGB, renamed the XXxx to enGB too. That also did not work.
If I was going to try do this manually and generate my own MPQ, how would I go about doing it? I can open spell.dbc but which field is the field I need to edit to reduce the GCD.

EDIT: Just as I posted this, I realised I already had another MPQ changing the way some spells look, I deleted that and this MPQ worked fine. Thanks

I did incrase my DPS a lot..
But can you explain why the dps incrases only on my DPS meters etc?
Not on the ones other players are using.. I pulled 10k dps on a target dummy.. while other ppl were showing a max of 9k.

Recount's DPS is just a calculated thing. I think the difference is due to the way recount detects if you're out of combat, and otherplayers dont know if you're out of combat, so it probably waits longer before thinking you're out of combat and stopping calculation of DPS.

If anything, the damage done portion does not lie. You can run a stopwatch and compare it with damage done to calculate your own DPS.

People inorder to maximize dps you need to press buttons fast as your gcd will be lower and make sure abilities went off before spamming.
