What is the difference between this and any scamming/hacking/exploiting in any other parts of the forum?

I think people need to be more forgiving because it's only going to happen if people put themselves in that position.

The issue is this

what the jimmy-james do you need their password for? If the only thing you're going to do is write to blizzard (which is what their claiming they'd do) with a list saying ''these people are using my illegal bot illegally", then a username would be enough.

No need for anyones passwords to go anywhere.

Well I used to use Pirox pvpTool before Version 2 came out...

Version 2 is far to big and is not tidy in my opinion.

Now this has pushed my over the edge, I refuse to trust pvpTool now.

What I think is that Pirox is like us, doesn't think he is better than us, but when that botoperator dude came in, pirox attitute changed, to all "he's better than the public" shit.

I couldn't agree with you more, I quit WoW for some time a while back, and when I started up again - Botop was a new moderator for Pirox, everytime I see him reply to a support problem, he always replies with a generic Copy Pasta.
COPY AND PASTING IS NOT SUPPORT, answer the problem with a real answer that actually helps the person needing it.
Also remarks such as "we have every right to have your username" (I saw it in Irc off someone's copy pasta in this thread) send me over the edge. You have NO right to have our usernames or passwords, even if someone goes so far as to crack your bot.

Still looking to a reply regarding if Pirox is removing this code...

Pirox i want tell you how much of a great job your doing man ignore these people putting you down and the bot i for one will never stop using this bot.

at one point this bot was for free during the time he had that coding in there he could have hijacked accounts but he didn't do it did he? why because Pirox has worked hard on this program and needed support to host these servers for the bot nothing is for free in life people and if it is its most likely a fake, he's shown me how trust worthy he can be and that's why i will be using this bot for along time!

Personally, I think this thread has got the attention it required. PiroX has got his stuff together and figured out this isn't the way to go, he apologized for it, and has agreed to remove the code and move on.

If you feel insecure by using his software, then stop using it. But please - do use your brain. PiroX is not the kind of person that would steal your account information, in fact, if he had wanted to, he could've gotten away with it a year ago, when he had those public anti-AFK jumping bots.

This thread is just getting out of hand now, hardly anything useful is being contributed in say the last two pages and it mainly consists of rants and flames now.

Don't go too hard on him, everyone makes mistakes. It's alright, as long as they learn from them, isn't it?

- WHY on earth is there code that will send (unsecured) your PASSWORD? Don't need that to report to Blizzard

- The whole idea of "if you pirate our software we will get you banned" is horribly wrong on many levels. The ONLY reason anyone needs to disagree with this is very simple: pvpbot is a barely functioning, bloated, bug-ridden amateur-hour patched together auto-it monster. It gets updates about 5 times every month, and half these updates need emergency patches due to the dozens things they managed to break while introducing new features. Very often as it starts up it refuses to recognize your elite/premium subscription, or wont run at all cause pirox's servers are down, or any number of other completely inexplicable bugs. How about the fact that if any cracked Piroxes are out there they are likely sold rebranded and users may have NO CLUE they are using non-legit software?

What they did was crazy and I've seen no evidence they plan to stop. And anyone that trusts this program to not one day decide that its cracked and instaban you with a Warden report or send all your battlenet info including pass to who know where - they are crazy.

Everyone agrees on what you said, and a few posts up PiroX admitted it wasn't the brightest of ideas, and said he'd remove the code that caused such an uproar. All I'm saying is everything that has to be said has been said in the thread, and there is no need for everyone to put their own rant towards PiroX in it.

actually it is understandable that they do... You would too if we were sending our email list to Blizzard. (not that pirox has done anything like this) It is natural to be upset when trust has been breached

That attempt to prevent people from cracking is fail anyway.

I cracked pvptool by simply writing a small authserver-emulator and redirecting pvptools traffic to my emulator.

It was working fine and no anti-crack shit was fired.

Meh seifer it's not just that. I want to make sure he knows WHY he should change it. I don't want him removing the code just because people found out about his method and worrying his community will leave.. The coding is unfair and unjust, he needs to understand that so he makes no similar mistakes in future. And when your anti-crack method possibly logs the info of crackers, *whether it affects your users or not*, they have a right to know, and should've been told plainly on the website or in forum stickys. Because apparently, they were unaware.
