Really if you bot at all, you should plan on getting banned eventually. It's going to happen... Ya, banwaves suck, but I think there's a thread in WoW General to mourn your banned accounts. Most people will update and move on and be banned again anyways...
I've never botted beyond an auto clicker for afk farming in bg's, which I got banned for lol. But from what I've seen and read, IS is like the Olive Garden of botting, pristine and correct. While Glider is the McDonalds of botting. Cheap and crappy, with a clown....
.....ya...
Glider is only as good as you make it. That's my opinion. Pather makes botting absolutely perfect. And at least for myself, i plan on botting to 70, getting my bg gear, and deleting glider as fast as i can. I lost a 70 mage, 70 lock, 70 warrior, 70 hunter, and another 65 warrior in the 5/20 banwave, and tbh, it's more of a get in and get out kinda thing. At least for me.
On a different note, i am really not sure how bad this banwave is gonna be. HIGHLY doubt it will be anything like the 5/20 one. But there is obviously something going on.
The banwave has been over for about 3-4 hours now. (Lax has disallowed the use of ISXWarden, which won't let you load WoW)
And I won't comment on PPather, but it is a good step forward for Glider.
And no, I don't think there will be another wave like the 5/20 wave. (Let's hope not at least)
well really what raises the ban rate exponentially is not the IQ of glider users, it's that there are exponentially more of them. seriously very few people use openbot, and an enormous number use glider - who do you expect to have more ban reports? but if it makes you feel better to call obenbot users smarter, its a free country. Most of this chalks up to the user base. Glider is a great program, and very easy to use. But that brings quite alot of dumb people to it's user base. Which raises the ban rate exponentially.
openbot is a fantastic program - but using it ever again on a MAIN account is beyond dumb. Blizzard is in midst of a big case vs glider, and openbot is on its radar as well. it has nothing to do with how good isxwarden is, Blizz has shown the WILL to fight these bots and they arent giving up. Even if Lax defeats warden completely, Blizz will invest the time and money to invent a brand new method, there is no reason to think otherwise, and there are too many ways innerspace interacts with wow to fully plug all the holes vs detection. The new and improved version of openbot will only make this worse, if it attracts more users and more attention.
beyond the "fun factor" and the challenge of making a 100% independent bot, there is no reason to use the extra smart bots like openbot. what, people really need all that AI to fly to Orgr, train, go to AH to buy new gear, do quests, etc etc?? seriously you accomplish the same thing by taking 5 min per day to manually catch your toon up with talents, gear and new locations.
the "end-user" purpose of these bots is to level to 70, and at 70 grind BGs and kill mobs / gather stuff for gold. thats it. and all that is done perfectly well by the more simple bots, you just have to interact with them for 60 sec every few hours. and you do give up stuff like radar and other cool perks. but hey - no one is detecting them.
And you just proved what I said.
Glider has FAR more users. (100k last I checked) Which of course, brings more bans. (Common sense)
However, my point is still valid. People who can't quite understand the idiosyncrasies of OB, opt for Glider because it's easier to use. There's pros and cons to both bots. OB is smarter, and is more responsive. (This much I think everyone can agree on) But it's not as easy to work with as Glider. Which leads all the people who are either lazy, "dumb" (for lack of a better word atm), etc, to go with Glider. And there's nothing wrong with that. User reports and bans from them are not "ban waves". Detection is where ban waves come from.
I don't want to turn this thread into Glider vs OB, or Glider vs IS. I was pointing out a fact that IS users can say they have less bans, because it is a fact. (I also explained WHY they have less bans)
now that Blizz has defeated Glider, its only a matter of time untill they go after IS bots. so in the end, all bots fail.
I have not been banned, yet.
Damn they should be nicer to bot users it's only because of Glider I still play wow.
May you never autorun too far into the ocean.
Im still alive too ^^ I botted yesterday.. Weird
