Hi there,

1st of all: There have been no any OFFICIAL announcements. So let's face it: We can only asume. We do not now anything for sure.

Second: Like everyone else i tried to find a sort of common rule on this issue, there is something notable:

My accounts on which i've been botted have been banned in waves. First a couple. Yesterday a couple. Today a couple.
Those are accounts of which i botted before (long ago and short ago), and after the update.

BUT There is one account on which i botted which DID NOT BAN. It's an account on which i botted two weeks ago, AND on which i've been playing NORMALLY for 2 weeks.
So i guess they will bann in waves the accounts but i HOPE that there is only last maybe 100/200 acitivities in the log for each account. So if you botted long ago AND played normally, so the last 200 activities are quiet normal, maybe you'll get away with it.

Anyway: This is what i assume, what i hope, there is not a single official statement, i don't know for sure, but i do think this make sense.

Same. I started botting an alt account I had laying around and got banned within two days, even at lowkey settings. The account I've botted in the past to 29 and have played legit for the past two weeks is still running strong. I'm sure it'll get caught too but so far so good. We'll see what happens

All anyone can hope for is that they ban through severity of the botting. Maybe a banning for a certain period of time for older users who didn't reap much from it and a permanent for an obvious bot acc that went from 1-30+ in under a week. Just wishful thinking but I have seen some people say they could create a new account after the banning with the same exact account name and trainer nickname. I still can't do that so we'll see.

If worse comes to worse I'll just remake an acc and play legit on and off.

Nope, i do the same. Still banned. 3 days top, say good bye to your account. Don't believe me, just wait & see in next 3 days.

Well it's now the 4th day since my main account got banned so I have lost all hope of getting it back. Let's face it, if this was a technical issue there would have been at least some sort of press release stating that Niantic is on the case (but still it's Niantic we are talking about here), so I'm more then sure that it's indeed a ban. Permanent or not it remains to be seen in the long run. Another thing that has been bugging me is the fact that there's no logic on the bans. People who botted before the API update are being banned, people who botted after are being banned, people who botted a few hours only are being banned, people who botted from lvl 1 are being banned, etc. It makes me believe that maybe (and this is an assumption) maybe when you log in game with the client the servers check the signature of the APK/IPA and see if it matches with the official client, if not, it flags the account and gathers evidence, like device IDs, long jumps, erroneous altitude or even the pokemon catch ratio/pokestops spin ratio, and eventually your account is reviewed and banned. That's my assumption anyway but it would explain why people who haven't botted for some time are still being banned.

I for once will delete the game if my last account get's banned. The game itself was a great idea but the implementation was so flawed that it will fed up anyone who plays it for long time. For once I don't agree with the idea of continent exclusive pokemons. Not everyone has time/money to go on all continents trying to complete their collection. Second the exp needed for level past 30 is ridiculous specially if you live in a remote location where's 2/3 pokestops and no gym for miles. And Niantic should really lunch some hints on how to catch Ditto cause if it wasn't discovered by now it won't be anytime soon without some inside clues.

That will be near to impossible. It's a server side ban, not something that could easily be bypassed with some code change.

You could just submit a ticket and see where it goes, since if you are already ban they cannot do anything worse than that.

I didn't submit a ban apeal ticket, I submitted a ticket 2 days ago under problems signing in section '' trying to make them think I'm innocent'' lol
since I didn't got a message says I just banned in the first place lol

What I find ridiculous and unfair is that players (like me) who played the game normally with no hacks whatsoever gets 'failed to get data from server'... I have filed a support email and a ban appeal email.. Still waiting for a response.

in the pokemon go game there's a real magic I stopped playing on ps4 and xbox one since I started playing it, got back to my PS4 and XBOX just 2 days ago when I got banned !! I abandoned high graphic games on my PS4 for this shitty game!! this is just insane !!

But when you started to bot you must've known this was likely to happen? If not then you screwed yourself over and can only be mad at yourself.

And why is everyone getting so angry over this anyway? Pokemon Go has been losing players at an incredible rate since the tracker went down. The thing about this game is that all the people who were ever going to play it did so within the first week of it being released in their country because of the hype and media, so when the app was a mess with broken features and 3rd party sites that helped resolved them were taken down (e.g. Pokevision) the masses of players that left because of them left for good and the ones that chose to snipe/bot were/are also pretty much prepared to quit as well. All the stuff they said about content several months/years in the future is most likely BS to get players to think this game actually has a future so they invest money into it and it would surprise me if their active playerbase took another nosedive at the end summer.

Anyway, if you're not prepared to get banned in the future then play legit. We already know that getting to level 20 is easy for someone who knows what they are going since it's literally 1 weekend in a big city of grinding lured pokestops for 8-10 hours a day. You don't even need to move much since eggs don't even matter until you're level 20.

Indeed, the game should have been released globally for all countries at same time. But I think that not even Niantic was counting on such a huge number of gamers and when the damage was done it was too late. They should have taken their experience with Ingress and figure out that people would use GPS spoof to play the game in the short run.
