As long as the game continues to make money it will continue to operate. Blizzard is not going to focus on making a new MMORPG when they can instead invade the market space of different genre games. Their goal right now is to have a piece in every gaming market, not creating the best single game. The Blizzard of today only cares about quality in so much that it is optimized for revenue, this may have always been the case, I do not claim to know, but it is certainly more true now than ever before.
