I originally sent this message to one of the OwnedCore Elite. But I just saw this section and thought I would post it in here. Here it goes...

New member and donator here at OwnedCore. I gotta say I love the site and the community is great so far. I know its not my place to make suggestions to the website, but I feel for the community to benefit the most I need to say 1 thing.

I have noticed that the forums for OwnedCore are readable to the public without making an account. Guests without an account can google search exploits and they will show up in google and they can click them and view them right away. I'm not sure what your site "blueprint/ideology" is, if this was intended then by all means please disregard this message and I am sorry. But if you would like to keep all discussion and exploits "private" from google, unregistered guests, the public, and most importantly for WoW exploits at least...BLIZZARD, then I would highly recommend making the forums "register-to-see"/"create-user-to-view".

Not all threads/topics/forums need to be like this, I would only suggest maybe the exploits/guides/etc to be hidden from the public. General things could stay the way they are.

By doing so, you will entice guests to create accounts to view the content and by doing this, you may get more donations and community activity. The "good-stuff" so-to-speak will be only viewable by registered members, and thus by doing this you will prolong any exploits/guides found.

One other suggestion I had, it may not apply to you specifically; may apply to the OP's of exploits in the forums. The OP's a lot of times, a good example most recently with the WoW invisibility exploit, posted a youtube video and channel of the exploit. This youtube video had a detailed video title of the hack, a detailed description, and was public. Within 2 days of the video posting on Youtube, The GM's of blizzard have found out about the bug, Threads on the official forum of QQ"ing alliance have started, and temp bans and warnings have started.

A suggestion for the creaters of the Youtube Videos would be to:
1.) keep the video title named "Untitled"
2.) Have no description as both this and the title come up in google search results and youtube search results
3.) maybe make the video private with password or whatever and share that password on the forum for "registered users" to see.
4.) provide the description within the forum and not the youtube video. This way even if someone does happen to find the video, they will not have a description to accompany the video.

This will most definitely prolong the exploit and keep it out of the publics eyes.

Well...there are my 2 suggestions that I would LOVE to see happen. But again, I'm just a donator/member with no influence what-so-ever and have written this with no expectations. Keep up the good work, great site! If you need any help with any of this, let me know. Webmaster/Webdesigner with many years experience.

Hey there,

It is most definitely your place to make suggestions, especially when they're this well written.
The current system works exactly as we intend it to do. We have a section for public exploits and a section for hidden exploits. If an exploit is too good to have public, we put it there so it doesn't get fixed quite as quickly. "The good stuff" as you put it, is already only for donators and up.

Thank you for suggesting this to us and I hope you enjoy your stay on OwnedCore.com

Yeah, any member of the site is welcomed to make suggestions, as long as they are thought out and well written!

As for members registering, they have to register to see any links (ie downloads) but they can read all the stuff without registering. The site is made to allow people to see stuff without registering, as they then get a taste of what the site has to offer, also this site was made as a free version of all those pay to view forums that were around back in the day. It's more advantageous to this site to allow people to view things without registering, that way they won't get turned off by having to register just to see one thing on the site, hopefully once they see a few things they will want to comment and register or something along those lines. We do have a few sections that are hidden to both guests and regular members, in case we want to hide things from Blizzard for a bit longer, as it is not so hard for Blizzard to register an account here. Basically one of the main goals of Owned Core is to provide free public exploits and guides to anyone who has the time to look for them!

Your point you made about having to register before you see something, which would prolong exploit life, makes no sense to me. There is a HUGE chance Blizzard has people registered to this site, even some of the Donators are probably Blizzard employees. The only things they can't access, without paying for it, is Contributor/Elite, but they could get those eventually.

Also, any decent exploits are public. Usually, their founders have got enough use out of them, and want to share them with the public, since they don't really need them anymore.
Any good exploits are for Donators. Usually, founders will have used for a bit, then shared, but are still useful to the founder.
Any great exploits are for Contributors. Usually, people will use these exploits maybe a day before they post them.
Any OUTSTANDING exploits (I assume) are for Elites. These people will share what they find immediately, because the chance of Blizzard having an Elite member over here is pretty slim.

So, trust me, Blizzard does read this site, they have donators, and they MIGHT even have Contribs/Elites working for them. But this site was intended to be used by everyone, for everything, not just people who contribute to the site on a regular basis.

KuRIoS said awhile ago that it was known to them that there were at least a few contributors from Blizzard on the site and one elite. Which is why all the major ground breaking exploits are posted in legendary, although that section is pretty dead. Sorry this thread has gone a bit off-topic, but this was in regards to having to register to view exploits.

One elite? That's ridiculous! It was like.. ages ago when I reached the legendar.. OH WAIT nvm.
On the serious side, I know quite a few Blizzard employees who visit this site.
It's no wonder since some of them used to do modding before they got employed.
Great feedback everyone. Looks like everything is working as intended. Should we close this thread then?

**Request** Will a moderator please close this thread I started? Thanks!
**Reason** Suggestion is invalid, site is working as intended.
