Don't you think a game should always be fun?
So far, everyone who shared his experience about Aion on this website says they do not enjoy the early or mid-early leveling due to it's long grind. I think a game should be fun throughout the whole game and not that you have to do stuff you don't want to do so you become a higher level and can do fun content later.
I think everyone really liked WoW in the beginning, including the leveling. I feel like this is where Aion fails.
Are you saying every level in WoW is enjoyable? (saying this just so you can see how dumb it sounds)
ive played WoW, and ive played Aion, both have their boring level areas, both have more enjoyable content that you have to work through those boring levels towards. every MMO is like this, as thats how they continually keep you occupied while sucking down your 15$-a-month subscription fee.
so like someone said before me, quiting at level 10 in aion and saying its boring is like quiting at level 20 in wow and saying its boring, ofcouse it is, you have barely been playing long enough to experience the enjoyable content.
ive just orderd Aion from Amazon for £25. if i dont like it then its not really a big deal but it seems really cool as its only just been released. WoW wasnt all that amazing when it first started, i just think Aion needs some time to develop more into a better game that could possibly be a WoW beater.
I'm the one who got TheBluePanda's Aion account for a EU CDK - and so far I find the game mildly interesting. However boring...
Life > WoW > Aion
Now about Aion, i have played the official and has got very cool graphics, but the game play (most for quests and skills) are not so good as WoW.
I've been playing Aion, but I can't get into it. The game mechanics are OK, but the world and art direction feels kinda generic.
yeah the game is ****ing hard :P
But its fun
Only problem is the crashes im getting in morheim so its unplayable for me atm
Its like this...
As someone said before me... This game is for HARDCORE MMO players.. If you're casual... or if you have less than 2-5 hours DAILY to play this game, GG, give up. THAT is why is wont take WoW's casual-style players. WoW allows all players to enjoy the game regardless of how much you get to play.
However with Aion, you will find yourself Grinding hours for levels and SICK looking and heavily stated gear. If you play long hours it pays off... A LOT. and if you're good... people will know... You wont see anyone and everyone walking around in epics.. and as far as I know, no one in NA has even hit level cap yet. Its a feat and people will respect and your gear will show your effort.
Addendum: If you are a casual gamer (play 1-2 hours a day or less), Stick with WoW, the game play is for everyone.. You could say its an "easy mode" MMO, which is by no means a bad thing as everyone is able to enjoy events and instances and rich content and you wont feel majorly trumped by everyone who is able to play more than you.
If you consider yourself a HARDCORE gamer, you'll want to give Aion a shot, Grind hard and grind long, leveling is hard and rigorous, and the best of the best gear will be hard to come by, but the time you invest will not be easily mirrored and you will definitely be greatly rewarded for your effort. The Abyss is an epic PvP playground where you'll be able to flaunt your sick epics and prove that your skill is superior.
Small side note.. if you intend to play Aion and continue to do things aside from go to work/school and still want to be as good as the other players with more time invested than you, don't bother.
I've played Aion, I prepurchased CE Edition, I got to level 31, I realized that as MUCH as I loved the game, I couldn't continue to be as good as other players because I have a girlfriend who is bothered by me playing any game for more than 2 hours any given day, I have a job that I work 35-40 hours a week, and I have other obligations. I am a casual gamer, and Aion was too pro for me hahaha. That being said, I think I'll continue to play, however I dont expect to see myself on the top ranks.
I'd tell anyone to at least try it though.
Not a wow killer, jsut something to keep me happy til Cata =P
Interview: Is it all behind the face?
Emilie: No, it's all beneath the skirt.
Trust me guys, Aion is crap. I have played it and I am ofificially back to playing WoW
I would, but don't have time to play Aion and my computer can't handle any new games.
