    Sony owned, again.

From Twitter (same people who recently hacked PBS)
NOTE: This seems to be about SonyPictures.com right now. They say PSN was compromised but this may be a new development they haven't leaked anything from yet.

"We recently broke into SonyPictures.com and compromised over 1,000,000 users' personal information, including passwords, email addresses, home addresses, dates of birth, and all Sony opt-in data associated with their accounts. Among other things, we also compromised all admin details of Sony Pictures (including passwords) along with 75,000 "music codes" and 3.5 million "music coupons".
Since some users can't seem to read, files/databases were released. See Twitter link above.
You can go read more about it on LulzSecurity (relases section)

Personally I think that's just sad. Sony Sony Sony.. I have lost my faith in you..

I agree, they are nothing but ass hats. I don't play consoles nor do I care but my brother could not play online for over two weeks, kind of felt for him like the wow servers being taken down for a few weeks. Just because some mouth breathers wanted to take down psn, if they want to **** with sony release "higher up's" personal information etc etc

I think what you're not taking into consideration is the background behind all of this. It's well and good you focusing on the point of attack, but remember something: Sony's methods of storing your personal information were next to criminal in themselves. Passwords in plain text, anyone? While it's fantastic to find a hole and report it silently, nothing moves a company faster than a picture of ****** on their homepage, or in this case a massive data leak. I can't explicitly say they deserved such a fate, but with the way they handled the data they had this coming to them.

    +1.

I'm a PSN user, my details were comprimised by the attack, I had to cancel my credit card because Sony stored the name, address, card number, secuirty code and account number in plain text in the same DB.

You'd all shit a brick if your bank kept all your personal records in a plain text DB....

Sony took it in the ass big style over this hack and for it to happen again just goes to show they dont give a shit about their consumers just their profit margin.

I for one will not be supporting sony again in any format, not digital downloads on psn, wont be purchasing sonys next gen console (when it comes out) will avoid sony tech in general.

It sound slike a QQ but you dont see Microsoft effin their users in the A?
