why is it that when a natural disaster occurs (Haiti), there's always the someone who likes to rub it in your face that he/she is giving away his life to help someone in Haiti and i'm not doing anything?

not that it's wrong or anything, but i wish people would just start acting without having to boast or broadcast it to the whole world. it just makes you look less of a hero IMO.

i also wish new casters would stop filming in front of a dieing family and use them as an example for everyone to see.

anyone else feel this way?

It first made me angry how they sent people filming the horror instead of sending some
help.

But the truth is: Without media nobody would care, we wouldn't have any idea of
what's going on there. My opinion is: Now when we've seen how things are, it's time
to help these people. Media has done it's job, but we still need to keep it on news
so people won't stop thinking of it.

The media is half the reason that the people of Haiti are getting support from other people.
And god knows they need it.
There easiest way to help them is by joining Social-Vibe

The media couldn't care less whether Haiti gets help or not, it's all about what will bring in the $$$. A huge disaster = something to hype up and get the views coming in. If people were more interested in what colour the sky was, and then there was a very dark day, the media would write about that over Haiti (random example).
Regarding people rubbing it in, there are constantly people trying to raise funds to go to Africa and help out the poor people there etc, but I wouldn't unless it would look amazing on my CV. Call me selfish but I would rather be at my home country helping around here in general everyday matters than going to another country to help people I do not know and will never see again.

Seriously, who cares what you think or if they do 'broadcast' it, as you say.

It means the people who need the help are getting it. It's not about you.

It could be though, so maybe do something? If everyone who can donated even 1€ that'd be a tremendous help.

Money is getting donated daily by quite a few people, i've even noticed a blogging site Tumblr is promoting the donations to help out the people of Haiti, and once again on Social-Vibe the group i am currently supporting has raised $18,304 US so the help if getting there.
it's just a matter of is it enough. and clearly its not, everything is destroyed there.

Remember Anarchy, the site could also be a scam.
The Haiti situation is quite sad. Media isn't doing much except hyping it up.
If you want to donate money, donate to a medical group, not some random fund.
