Well im on my Pc at the moment and the Macs in use (that I use PS on) but if I remember on memory its when you like right click the layer or a button above that, you get a long list like

Normal
Disolve
Difference
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc

Ok I see what you mean windy. But that would be in the layer style box, and there's a lot of things that I could edit from normal to difference. I would gladly +rep again if you could help me figure this out =p
