[RULES] Rules for the Graphic Section. Please Read.

After getting extremely annoyed at a numerous span of things going on in the GFX section I have decided to make some rules, which I think all Requesters and Artists alike will like . I know most rules will be like "DUH!!" but this is mostly for people who don't know the graphics section or need to be put in line. Ignore this if you know your an honest person.

Here are the basics (I will be updating this post, as soon as someone sees a new rule to be added)
    1. NO RIPPING!
    • No graphical editing pictures to become your own
    • No stealing tutorials from other sites to gain rep
    • No using another persons art/sig in your own art without permission (exceptions are renders and artistic mediums alike, just like a render/c4d is like a brush for painting )
    • No stealing another persons requested art without permission to do so
Basically no Graphical Plagarism. I expect you know what this is. DO NOT DO THIS. Artists take time, and skill in doing their works. Ripping it is the worst thing you can do.

    2. No Multi-Requesting
    • Requesting in mutiple [Services] is extremely look down upon, and should not be done.
Pretty much self explanatory. Don't post in mutiple services, this wastes the time of the artists working. Post in the service you like most, not all. If you would like variety, post a [Request] Thread.

    3. Read the ENTIRE post (rep requirements ect.)
    • Read the ENTIRE post, especially in services.
    • Do not forget to read the requirements, if you do not fit these requirements, do not post.
    • Read every detail, if the person does NOT do banners do not post a request for one, and so on.
Artists take time out of their day for you. Return the favor. Please read the entire service. If you do not meet rep requirements, then do not post. You get the picture.

    4. Know what you want. And how you want it.
    • Make sure you properly fill out all templates artists give you
    • If you are confused on what to do, and want some input, at least give an overall idea. DO NOT JUST SAY "Use your imagination. I want a banner. Text = blabla" (Ect.)
    • If you want something specific, show examples, or tell the artist(s) some related to it.
Just make sure you don't post useless threads with no details. Very annoying as you could imagine.

    4. Say "Thanks"
    • When you receive your GFX, give some kind of feedback, at least like "oh cool" or some human response!
Basically, just give the artist some feedback. As one myself I know it can be frustrating when someone just takes the work, and leaves. Not because I want rep, but because I want to know if he liked it, or what I could improve on. Please respect this.

    5. Be Nice.
    • No outright flaming EVER.
    • Post constructive criticism - "You need to blend more, try that " (Ect.)
    • If you cannot say anything nice, or constructive about the piece of work, do not post.
    • Always be polite, courteous, and respectful to all artists.
    • Be respectful of the artist, his/her requirements and do not complain about time, sometimes the process can be slow. Or they are busy! (irl)
This is a no brainer. Please do not flame, or say other artists "suck", especially if you have no experience in the field. Always remind yourself that all artists are at different skill levels, and styles. Post constructive, or positives only.

All contributing GFX members should post their pet peeves and I'll slap them up here .

(Note: These rules are not technically official, but please at least try to follow them!)

Uploading a "GFX Rules" picture in a few days as this post looks boring .

Sorry guys! I apologize for the abruptness and sharpness of my recent posts. I am under loads of stress, by the end of the month there will be a happier me! NO I do not own these forums! There are so many talented artists out there, in the art world you don't own anything! Sorry if it sounds like it. You sincerely have my regrets. I just posted these in a format that would look official. Sorry for the confusion, I cannot stress enough that I despise people who try to "own" a forum, just because...any reason.

You can posts rules about plagiarism as long as you realize you're a hypocrite. Did you draw that Spidey?

Planet Renders.net allows people to post "rendered" cuts of characters ect. I'm pretty sure when you sign up, each person agrees that people will use their render. No I did not draw that spidey, but the person who rendered it allowed me to use it. If you want me to go the original artists you are absurd.

And to think, I was just about to compliment your work... So much for that. Don't be a jerk man. I had a lousy day, and Already explained my ass like behavior .

Rendering takes about 10 minutes. And I'm not trying to diss you here but you can't be half-half with rules. I mean if someone on Deviantart draws something, you can't rip it but Blizzard art is fine? Doesn't seem right. Rest of the rules I can agree on though.

How about you just make it so people shouldn't be allowed to take credit for other people's works?

Well see this is where it gets tricky. Commercial works of art are constantly posted either on the original website, or on a large photo sharing community. Basically what I'm saying is do not directly rip people's artistic works. Not just some picture, an edited picture, such as a signature, edited picture ect. I'll edit the post later to make it be more...specific

personally i think it nice youre trying to help new people understand the rules, but i think most are preety are obvious and tbh you arent a mod, its a moderators job to watch the forums, delete posts that are wrong, if they feel the need for a list of rules then they would have created one at the moment.
alot of the rules people know about they just think they can get away with it. i mean its not like people post others work as their own and then when we point out its ripped go "omg didnt know you werent allowed to rip." they know its wrong they just think people wont notice
personally as well i don't think its right that you always need to "reward" because really a "thank you" isn't actually a reward (its a compliment) so it insinuates that rep or money is required even though you say before hand it isnt. im not against repping good work but too many times i see people after creating work say "kool glad you liked it, if you feel like repping me go here....". for me thats the same as asking for rep, if the customer didnt say "+rep but cant, why?" then people shouldnt post as then that gets hypocritical with the rules and makes it appear like theres one set of rules for artists, and one for customers which is wrong.

    Minimized approves of these rules.
Srsly, though, the fact that these rules actually have to be posted is sad. All of these rules are things you should've figured out already. Bah, blame the leechers.

personally i think it nice youre trying to help new people understand the rules, but i think most are preety are obvious and tbh you arent a mod, its a moderators job to watch the forums, delete posts that are wrong, if they feel the need for a list of rules then they would have created one at the moment.

Mods doesn't care too much about this section, tbh.
    Say NO to hemo

Only a few of these rules I agree on such as "No stealing someone's art and claiming as your own", but alot of them I disagree with.

This basically means all signatures with renders, as I doubt people get permission from people to use there renders in signatures.

Not everybody knows that much about GFX, maybe they just wanna say something like "Nice, I like it"

Also lately you've been acting rather cocky (lol) in the graphics forum and it's rather annoying for me.

yeah i gotta agree with Jordash... its sorta like you think you own the graphics section for some reason :/. really, you can't just come in here in tell everyone what and what not to do (maybe if you were a mod or something lol ). if someone ignores a rep requirement in a graphics service, leave it up to the person who made the service.
you've made some other threads like this... like on how to rep someone or make a request, which weren't really needed. I don't think this is really needed either.
