Buy it. At first I thought it was a WoW clone too, but the more I level, the less it feels like WoW. I am in the 30s and enjoying the game more and more. It is a lot better if you enjoy world PVP.

I am on the verge of quitting WoW altogether for this game. My MMO history goes as follows:
Ragnarok Online ==> Final Fantasy XI ==> World of Warcraft (the very day it hit retail)
I've been a loyal WoW fan for years now and I'm not to the point just yet but ALMOST ready to quit WoW altogether and play only Rift. The game is extremely fun. It has a lot of the same "feel" as WoW at earlier levels but differs in some very good ways as well.
What really turned me off of WoW for the last year or two is the ****ing "roller coaster" ride we now take from patch to patch where your class is OP one patch and then ****ing worthless the next. I get tired of them ruining balance every patch and Rift seems diverse enough with the soul system that, between that and the fact that it focuses more on world PvP, I think it will be easier to balance.
Agreed completely with you on that one, I think as much as they say they are trying to "balance" things, they just make it worse. It is absolutely horrible - I have not played Rift but I did play the beta and enjoyed it a lot. I might give it a shot one day for another "fun" MMO
im playing this shit for the rift invasions
those things are ****ING AMAZING
seriously hundreds of mobs spawning and converging on towns etc.
