Hello,
I need help, please. I don't know what else I can do here...
I was using the windows 10 LTSB for the last 4-5 months where I had my PoE and PoEHUD working fine. Last night I decided to upgrade it to the Windows 10 Pro x64 1709 build 16299.125 (fall creators update) from a Microsoft original iso and it's activated (legit). Before doing it, I saved my PoE game and PoEHUD folders on a second hard drive so I could move them back after windows install.
So I installed a fresh copy of fall creators update, all drivers for my pc (latest available) including the video card one GeForce 388.71, DirectX 9 and all visual c++, windows update and then moved my PoE / PoEHUD folder back to my c:\. I ran PoE first to configure it like windowed full-screen 1920x1080, dx11 (auto) and a couple more UI options. The game alone is working fine like before. Now I downloaded the latest PoEHUD version from GitHub, extracted and opened it as I always did and to my surprise, I got the black screen issue! I can only see the PoEHUD overlay (menu, preload, etc).
I tried to look everywhere for a fix for that. I noticed on PoEHUD GitHub site that I need Windows aero transparency enabled and I guess it's already on for my windows. I could not find THIS option from Windows 7 on my new Windows 10 but on my settings>personalization>colors, I see transparency effects options turned on. I don't know if this is what should be enabled or not. I could not find anything else similar to that on my current windows version.
Please guys, does anyone have any idea or suggestion to help me here? If I can't find a solution for that I'll have to move back to old Windows 10 LTSB
Thanks in advance and happy new year!
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm using PoE standalone version and I also tried running both PoE and PoEHUD as admin or only PoEHUD as admin but no luck. The screen is black. Even desktop is black when I alt+tab from the game. I have to task manager and kill PoEHUD.
Someone please, help me. I want to play the game so much.

quick question, does it detect uber lab trials ion maps?
If this still isn't working, I know a few things that caused problems in the past. Try disabling transparency and then re-enabling it (the old "have you tried turning it off and back on" solution). Check your DPI settings (Display Settings, and then the slider right below the the display layout). I think that used to cause problems if it was anything but 100%, though I don't recall exactly what those issues were.
It detects if one exists, but it doesn't detect which specific one it is (I don't believe this would be possible until you're within a couple of screens).

Hello @TehCheat, thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, I still have the black screen problem. I've been looking on the internet for the last two days if there's any "hidden" option to enable Aero transparency on the latest Windows 10 Pro x64 fall creators update 1709 build 16299.125 but could not find anything. The only option that I see on Settings that could have something to do with that is the "Transparency effects" button from Color tab which is already set On by default as shown here transparency.jpg. Also the DPI settings you recommended to check is at 100% (recommended and default) scale.jpg. I already tried to disable and enable them back with no luck.
As I said before, I only installed the Windows, drivers, dx9, visual c++, PoE, and PoEHUD. All Windows settings are pretty much all default.
I'm wondering if anyone else is having such problem if they are running this Windows version.
My only choice now is to go back and install the old Windows 10 LTSB, which is sad but I'll wait a couple more hours and maybe someone appears with a solution for this case.
@TehCheat, is there any way we set up a TeamViewer so you can check it for me since you are more experienced, please?
Thanks in advance.
no news about dx9?
Updated DirectX 9/x86 offsets.
Link here.
I didn't test it much, but I saw map icons, preloads, xp rate, healthbars, etc. Let me know if anything is still broken.
Hello there,
I just gave up on that new Windows 10 Pro version. I could not find any solution for it after 3 days looking on the internet. I installed back the old LTSB version and it works fine, I don't need to change anything.
Regarding that anti-aliasing setting for Nvidia cited by @TehCheat, I have it off on the game and on Nvidia control panel it's set to multisample. I switched that entire panel options and none worked so I guess it may be something to do with the new Windows 10. I'm curios that I have not see anyone else on forums with similar problem. Maybe people are running older Windows versions?
Anyways, let's see in a short future when more people migrate to new Windows 10 if that problem persists.
Thanks.
