    The project is on hold, currently. I hope in a few (2-3) months I'll have help to continue the project. If everything goes wrong, I'll release the sources, but we're far from that yet. If everything goes well, I belive we'll have fully functioning servers up in a year.

    What sort of help do you need? And does anyone know how difficult it would be to buy out the auto assault ip?

    I belive that buying the IP would be the easier, but it'd cost about a few hundred thousand USD. I don't have money to buy that. I'd have done it if it would only cost 1-2000 $.

    Hi, Finally someone is doing this. Auto Assault is one of my favorite games. please let us know any updates. I can't wait for this to be up and running. This will be great!

    I can't tell you how pumped I am to see somebody working on this still. I miss Auto Assault to this day. No other MMO was like it at the time, and no other MMO has ever been like (probably because it "failed").

    Buying the IP would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, yes. Have you considered crowdfunding? It could be a novel way to use crowdfunding for a video game, not to develop a new one, but to get the rights for one from the people who hold it thereby allowing people to play it again. Stretch goals could be to set up a new development team to start putting in new content again. Just a thought.

    Yes, a Kickstarter should be the way to go. That has the secondary effect that you could see if there is an actual demand for a revival.
    Well more or less, people who didn“t play it, would have to... Wait. A Kickstarter would reach an audience. A big one.

    Well, I have a C# and a C++ server for AA.
    The C# server is ahead of the C++ server, but the C++ one is better organized.

    Both projects could be successful with proper development, so currently for developing, I need C# and/or C++ developers.

    The project requires reverse engineering skills or, at least interest for learning it.

    Anybody who has free time and the inspiration to learn, can apply to help.

    The project isn't open source. It might become, later. It depends on a few factors. There are more info at the link I've posted in the 2nd post.
