Well, in the recent beta time, i played of course. And i have to say... the game is not layed out well at all.
It was very confusing, hard to track anything or find information out in game.

Over all, i was not happy with the game and think it can use major improvement everywhere....

What are your thoughts?

They are just doing everything wrong.

- It's been in development for almost 7 years now and they have something which is not even comparable to other MMOs.
- The game is very buggy.
- The graphics are nothing special, it just looks like a UE3 tech demo: (1) (2)
- The developers are terrible at interacting with the players. I haven't seen a single official gameplay video where they do some quests, wander around and show you what is special about their game.
- The servers, while I realise are in beta, are very unstable. A lot of the time there are many zones which are down for unknown reasons. In their current state, they will need a LOT of improvement if they ever want to make this "mega-server" thing they are speaking of.
- The game is boring. Questing is a huge grind, combat consists of doing the same thing over and over.
- The creatures are easy. Like, really, really easy. I don't know why they think the lower levels should have absolutely no challenge. I counted the amount of hits it took an equal level creature to kill me at level 5. IIRC it was about 35 hits due to my health regenerating, and they only hit once every 2 seconds or so. And in return, it only took me about 4 hits to kill the creature.
- Going back to the first point; as you can imagine, updates/content updates to this game are probably going to be veeeeeery slow.

There is nothing which stood out to me in this game. I honestly can't remember much during the time I spent in the beta, and I really think that's a big problem.

You do realize this game launches in 4 months. What you saw is 75% the real deal. This does not look promising whatsoever.

That aside...

I give it a 3/10. Without some cool characters I met and without some quests I thought were neat, this game would be sitting at a 1.5-2 for me. It's just complete garbage in its current state and I hope that they push it back and work on everything.

- The focus on immersion has led them to make some silly mistakes for MMORPG players. Not seeing names above characters and things like no chat bubbles, small dungeon teams just dont help communities develop or encourage grouping. Not to mention the Megaserver , 5 guilds players can be in at the same time and all the phasing, instancing.

I have only one thing to say... Shitty char movement -> Can't pvp with the char movement -> uninstalls -> Buys 60 days of wow.

I've played the game and actually enjoyed playing it but I think the remarks Jadd has are valid. Yes it is a beta, which seems to be your only input, but from the hours I've spent playing it so far the game looks and feels incredibly unpolished for something that is to be released in just a few months compared to other games and especially MMO's that I have beta tested in the past which is a major concern to me. That said, I will probably buy it to try the "finished" product out.

I have played it the last beta test and i even had a 2 weeks closed beta back in november.

I have seen alot of short sighted people commenting on it after played the starting zone. The game really opens up at around level 10 and after that its alot more fliud and better in terms of skills and content. Comparing to WoW its a total different game with a lot more modern technology and if you are looking for a fresh mmo then i think TESO will make a good job of keeping you occupied.

The diversity in you characters is so fresh compared to wow and its easy to keep investigating skills and trying to get the perfect build for your play style.

I dont think there will be a wow killer, except wow itself. End content and the already up and running development blizzard have will make it hard to topple it but for us that have played wow since beta TESO will be a much needed new experience.

Hope to see alot of you OC members in Tamriel and i hope we bot and exploit as good as in wow.

Dont know what you are talking about but yeah capturing mine carts or fighting 5v5 is so very better then AvA in Cyrodil because mine cart are EPIC. Or why capture a keep when you can carry a flag for 2 minuts. Those flags are awesome and that is why you win a fight.

Sorry for bashing but comparing wow pvp againt elder scrolls AvA are just.... but then again it seems hard to move in eso.

I played last weekend and really enjoyed it. I think it'll launch as a mediocre game, with the potential to be truly great with good post-launch development.
