    Medicore. Yes.
This game will gain some day full potential, but not now. There are too many things missing, which made the elder scrolls offline sage so special. You can't even dive. No pocket picking. No attacking of harmless NPC's. No thief's guild atm. I think for the pocket picking and attacking NPC's it's to late to implement from design view, but diving could be implemented?! Thief's guild will follow in future if i read it correctly. They have to add more different spells. These ones are boring.

...but the story and side quests are good and sometimes fascinating.

Comparing to WoW its a total different game with a lot more modern technology and if you are looking for a fresh mmo then i think TESO will make a good job of keeping you occupied.
Sorry for bashing but comparing wow pvp againt elder scrolls AvA are just.... but then again it seems hard to move in eso.
Good points IMO. How can anyone over the age of 16 still play WoW with Pandas in the game is all I want to know? I am not pretending to be the paragon of maturity but WoW always seemed goofy/childish to me which I overlooked because of solid gameplay mechanics, but a man has to have his limitations.

I'm 22, i play wow, does that make me immature? you think so? think again!

On Topic: thing with bethesda is, they have made an incredible story and a great lore behind it, but their games were always average at most, only thing that saved morrowind/oblivion/skyrim was their mod support which will not exist in MMO, yeah sure they might let players create custom dungeons in future or something, but they wont let players change game mechanics, such as custom animations, higher res textures, customization of Open World locations, there wont be anything like say 'Better Vampires' mod for skyrim and other major enhancements that made their previous games so popular.

Haha no, I am only implying if you still play you are overlooking these things on purpose. I am trying to illustrate my personal need for an MMO without them.

Good points with the modding. Every MMO starts from somewhere and we will have to see if the TESO team can manage what Blizzard did and keep players interested long enough to add new content.

It is just as possible to mod ESO as with WOW. Alot of the texture is client side. Of course its a question of its allowed or not.

Is it allowed to mod in WoW? I thought that was against the EULA?

Personally I like the game. But today when I ran into another issue with a quest I decided that it's not a game I'm going to buy any time soon. I've dropped about a third of all quests because of one issue or another. When you have to do that, it's an issue with the underlying system.

played Last Beta all weekend, just stopped ... if the release is anything like what i just played, the Fail will be so Epic as to realign parts of the universe ... also, if it is an Epic Fail, there is one aspect that is so poorly thought out and implemented it might become as famous as Leroy Jenkins ...

So, I have played the last four beta weekends, and I have to say that I love the story. I get real into lore, and the heart of why I am playing any game.
    That being said...
I have had issues with quests being buggy, but in the first beta I played some of the vocals were microsoft sam/samantha voices and didn't match at
all with the quest text. I understand that release is in a couple weeks, and I am looking forward to playing. I don't think that the release version will be as
Bugged as these betas are. I am confident that they will polish off the game, and give us a great new MMO.
As far as comparing it to WoW... Meh... whatever. I like this game better than WoW, mainly because WoW has become so dumbed down that i don't get
any sense of accomplishment from completing anything. I like ESOs Dark Anchor events, and elite areas that require help from friends to complete. I like
finding the public dungeons that don't have a quest tied to them, but loosely follow along the area story line.
This last weekend I was disappointed with some of the changes they made.
    1) The table of swords in the tutorial area instead of racks of different weapons for me to choose from. Only being able to pick a sword made me feel limited,
and made it feel less like as TES game.
    2) Making the starting areas chests a one time loot didn't work very well. sometimes if you saw someone loot a chest it would stay looted, and wouldn't respawn
For me. Again it felt limiting.
    3) I didn't care for starting the game in the major city, and having to take a quest, and a boat to get to the starting area. Hopefully this is just for the beta test.
They didn't bother to change any of the NPC interactions to account for this change, so when the first person I talked to said they had heard a lot about me and the things i had done, even
though i had just been unceremoniously tossed on my head from cold harbor and had no chance to do anything of note. It wasn't very engrossing as far a story goes. It also made it seem
like the story is less important than getting out there and hacking stuff to pieces.
Sorry for the long post. Over all I like this game, and I think they are doing a decent job with what they are attempting.

    Albitross:
You are talking about 3% of the game. Dont judge on that m8.

I have played the last 3 betas and i had run on the closed beta before that. I hit level 25 and Stormhaven zone and its quest was not buggy at all. Could be that alot of the starting zones have issues with phasing(qiest mobs not spawning etc).

The lore is very good, the main story lines are impressive, the graphics are just stunning. The theorycrafting and its possibilities are endless.
Comparing with wow is not really possible since ESO is so much better as far as i have seen. Alot of the limitations in wow are just to big to ignore.

However WoW has a fantastic end game, which i have not yet experienced in ESO. Adventure zones are coming soon after launch but will it compete with wow raiding or not is the questions.

If not, i still have have a lot of PvE to experience with a total new lore/environment. I played WoW since US beta and mid Panda it just hit me that WoW is not that great anymore. Its just the familiarity of it, its community, and the history i had with the game that kept me going.

Alot of complains are from beta and people that are not really trying to play the game.

For the first time ever playing a mmo i started to take screenshots last weekend just cause i was amazed of the environment, Never done that in wow and seeing outland again is not a Kodak moment for me.

Played it with my guild in the weekend. The result, NOBODY likes the game. To buggy, boring, and too "add the adjective here", In less than an hour, I listened more complaining about this game than MoP in a month.
For a MMO with so many years in development I was expecting something more polished, more interactive, more funny, something more.... well... more....
If you compare it with GW2... is like heaven and hell.

    I hear this a lot:

The game is too easy or its boring, etc. And the general reply is: Give it a few levels, it will get harder/better, etc.

Any game that you have to rush through levels just to get to the "good" stuff, will never be a win in my book. They are hoping that the pvp will keep this game going, and the endgame pvp is just meh to me. It seems fun for a few hours, but then its the same old thing. Run here, defend, ok run here, attack.

The content is soo redundant, its very easy to get bored, and just go do something else.

Here is a good summary of the game. And in his words: If you come at the game with the right attitude, it can be alot of fun.

Really? You have to have a right frame of mind to enjoy a game? Recipe for disaster.

They have some really good ideas. I just am not too sure either. I think the betas that they had just before release had such negative reviews.. I dont know if the game will recover from it.

I think the other aspect is that too many players were hoping for basically.. online skyrim. And this definately is not it.

Yeah, when I played it the first time, I somehow had the idea of skyrim or generally TES Online in my mind. (with mechanics we saw in morrowind, oblivion and skyrim.) Was pretty disappointed because of that.

But for the next beta I tried to play it again but this time without any expectations and it was actually pretty good, beside that I played as a Dunmer in Morrowind - Skyrim this time.

Apparently those issues have been fixed for launch.

We are very aware of the blockers experienced in the last beta. We did find three underlying issues that affected a large number of quests that are exposed when many people are in the same area. We have fixed all three of those underlying issues.
