    Memory Writing GUI Keypresses

Hey guys, so i'm attempting to write commands to a game GUI in a game, and i'm not meeting with much success. I can write movement commands directly to the game, but it seems for some reason or another that the same keys written to memory that are held down, for moving, are different than those for the GUI. It's pretty vital that I'm able to send commands to the UI for what I need, and the game is in Java, which makes it a little more complicated. Any help would be appreciated.

What language are you coding in, and (assuming this is on Windows(R)?) what API are you using to 'send the keys'? (PostMessage?keybd_event?)

edit: you're using WriteProcessMemory() ? How do you know where to write, and what value? Give some more details

"I can write movement commands directly to the game..." == WriteProcessMemory?

I have the base address, and all the pointers necessary to write hotkeys, like move left and right, and object activation. However, when i attempt to use the same key binding to press okay, for example on a popup message, it doesn't seem to work.
