32-bit client...
By now, a lot of you have been complaining about the 32-bit client being messed up due to the recent hotfix. I have just recently returned from a month-long "vacation" from D3. Most of the current Blizz lineup now routinely uses 64-bit architecture and has for several years. Diablo and, to a lesser extent, WoW still use 32-bit clients because of their popularity. That will soon change with a new Diablo game being developed and the next WoW expansion announced. Now, I do not work for said company, but do have people that do that I follow on Twitter. Here is what I think this means for the 32-bit client of TH ONLY:
KJ has hinted in the past that he would discontinue support for the 32-bit client if and when the time comes to do so. With the recent hotfix, I think that time has arrived based on the changes made Monday. They can be viewed here:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20759222219
My recommendation to KJ would be to release one final 32-bit client for TH and concentrate on the 64-bit client moving forward.
For more info on when we can expect a new Diablo game (based on speculation only, but handled by an industry market analyst), head here:

Again, pure speculation, but a plausible timeline given recent job announcements. Even the streamers are piping up:

I've seen most of his content and it is totally believable. I'll watch this when finished here.
What does this mean for TH and the future of it? Who knows. One thing I do know is that I have switched from the 32 to the 64-bit client in anticipation that the 32-bit client will be discontinued.

I already put lot of effort to be able to support both versions. There is no reason to drop 32 bit support NOW. Obviously when there is a good reason (on my side) to drop 32 bit support then I'll drop it without any hesitation).
Do not send me private messages unless it is absolutely necessary or the content is sensitive or when I ask you to do that...

I'll fix the 32 build and adjust the 64 bit build soon because I feel sick which means I'll be at home tomorrow.

Is there a way to cap the amount of memory D3 eats in 64 bit mode?

If KJ stops supporting 32bit - I can stop playing Diablo 3, because for me (and many many others) the 64bit D3 does not work - or is unplayable.
Or I can keep playing 32bit without THUD -- hahaha... yeah not happening.
This issue has not changed in the last 2 years so, not expecting Blizzard to fix it any time soon.

Apparently removing all overlays (both Windows+G and nVidia Experience overlay) solved my problems. (I also did the remove-all-communities "trick"). Now 64bit Diablo works for me...
