Not all autoit users have been banned (myself included) and I'm wondering how they're catching them. I was curious which script people are using to get an idea if random timers/clicks work. So far it seems like all the super-efficient 20 sec cellar runs are being banned.
I've been botting for around 10 hours a day daily for the past 3 weeks (100mil+ accumulated) with an edited version of Shizmoki's script (added more random clicks/sleeps) and frankly, I'm a bit surprised I'm not banned yet.
Actually it does say that. Too tired to go digging it up, but you can probably find it via a web search.
Regarding how Blizzard utilizes warden, they have a security team that spends all its time analyzing the data patterns that warden provides them, and managing the ban hammer. Every banned account is first reviewed by an actual human, and that takes time and money, but I suppose the existence of the RMAH leaves them little choice.
if you havent been banned and stop botting NOW, can you still get banned in the next wave? when do you know you are safe?
Last night was the first night in probably 6-8 weeks I didn't run my bot. Not particularly afraid of the bans just getting extremely bored. Got plenty of gold and the item finds suck pretty hard and really feel there is no reason really to continue. We'll see if I am banned so far down the road but just checked my account and no ban.
I can't comment or speculate on the likelihood of you getting flagged and then banned later, but I do know that when the first major banwave of sarkoth bots came I stopped botting, along with my 2 friends and none of us have gotten banned yet. One of my friends botted 24/7, my other friend and myself botted more conservatively, like 10/6. I botted for over a month. There is a possibility that you will get banned later, but there is also a chance you haven't been identified yet.
Been botting 24/7 since banwaves started going out. Was trying to make sure I broke even, but now I'm way up into the gravy, and still going just as hard. I'd rather not get banned, but time = money, and since my bots paid for themselves/pay trivial bills, I'm happy enough.
It's not based on that sort of thing. Warden is a data/acquisition/analysis tool. Blizzard has analysts who acquire these bots, run them and collect data.
Basic criteria such as games created in a specified period, gold looted, character progression, RMAH/GAH auctions/earnings.
I had two Sarkoth scripts running on and off about 12-15 hours a day. But haven't sold anything.. haven;t traded gold.. etc.. just growing it to buy gear to try and develop SOME level of progression in this godforsaken game. Wasn;t doing it to pad my measily bank account.
It is likely that although I probably met the criteria for games created, I did not meet remaining criteria like AH/Trade activity.
Then again I may be next... who knows.
Nottom line.. if yer trying to make $$$... bot 24-7 and cashout a lot. You will almost always stay in the black... and able to buy another set of accounts.
If you are doing for funsies... then all the thinking in the world isn;t gonna save you from the banhammer. Be prepared to simply leave the game.

I transferred my gold to my bot by trading an item for it and my mule account came out unscathed. Botting account using chancity's script is banned.
