    VmWare vs multiple d3 instances

Is it less "bannable" to use vm's? Im wondering cause I think it would speed up my diablos runnin from just 1 windows. But I heard that its better to play from vmware, because it will "show" more computers playing on the network, not just 1 computer running 4 instances ie.

    Anybody knows about this?

From what I know, each VM is considered to be its own computer. If you clone a VM though, just make sure to delete:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net

just to be safe. You can get there by running regedit.

*EDIT* delete that line within the VM clone

Thx for reply. I was thinking about not using vmware anymore because I think it would be faster just to multi-copy diablo without runnin more instances of windows as well

Based on what I remember, if you run them all on one Windows without VM, it'll look like one computer running multiple copies of D3. If you split it into one per VM however, it'll look like multiple computers playing.

    I personally use VMware.

Ss an my personal advice, i would use vmware just because you can clone how many d3 instances you need which on a SSD it means a lot of space saved. Secondly the registry for each game can be changed, just in case they can see that info and 10 clients running with the same info.

I run them from a VM myself as it feels less risky to run each of them on a Unique IP as thats pretty much the only thing blizzard can check about the computer you run it on.

some bots run sluggishly via VMware depending on how much core/mem you allocate to them. so running multiple instance on 1 desktop may prove to me more profitable since they could run as intended, but at a greater risk.
