Gladiator/Warlord Klinda Interview
Today I will be interviewing a famous warrior who's PvP videos are outstanding non the less. Klinda of Dreadmaul has been immersed through PvP since Classic World Of Warcraft. Since the Beginning Klinda has been an exceptionally skilled Player achieving Warlord Title in the Classic PvP system. Klinda first emerged onto the Arena scene in Season 4, Klinda achieved 2164 personal rating before the end of the season. Klinda then went onto achieving 2500 rating and higher from Season 5 and still today in Season 8.
When did you begin your journey in the World of Warcraft.
Classic Beta.
What enticed you about the World of Arena?
At first it was just something to do in between raids but when i realised that i was in a mid ranged guild that wasnt going to experience full end game content i started to look towards arena for gear. After getting all the gear etc from arena which took like fkn ages i realised that i loved doing arena and it wasnt just for the gear anymore. Mainly the aspect about arena that i love the most is that its totaly random, yeah people follow cookie cutter strats that some other guy has written a guide on or whatever but a strat can fck up massively with a miss/dodge/block. If mistakes happen youve gotta deal with them and recover quickly.
For the Readers that don't know you, can you please elaborate on your Class and Spec?
Im klinda <3 Im pretty much the most badass fun class there is to play an Arms warrior. If your new to the game a Warrior is def something to think about playing. Warriors are extremely gear dependent, meaning that at first they seem bad but as you gear them out they get more badass to the point where they just melt face. An arms warrior is extremely versatile, has abilities such as deep wounds/rend for DoTs, taste for blood which allows you to proc overpowers off on rend ticks, sweeping strikes which allows you to attack multiple targets, weapon specializations which gives you in lamest terms buffs your chosen weapon etc not gonna keep harping on about basic shit just look at a warrior talent tree and mouse over the abilities and read what they do. I hit shit hard and it dies, im a melee class, i use a big ass weapon and it fkn hurts.
What Comp's (Arena Team Builds) do you currently play?
OK 2v2 i jump around combos combos alot, but basicly a warrior is best paired with a healer. I run resto druid warrior, disc priest warrior (sometimes rarely though its really not a strong combo) and Paladin warrior.
In 3v3 i run Druid (resto) Priest (disc) Warrior (arms) which is a double healer combo, its like dispell cleave (paladin priest warrior) but nowhere near as good/easy to play.
In 5v5 you can pretty much run any 4 dps and healer its pretty random at the moment, but ive chosen to play triple healer (disc priest holy pal resto druid) warrior hunter, its a turtle comp but its still pretty fun.
What Comp's did you play which lead you too your success?
Main comp that leads me to success is Druid priest Warrior in 3v3, my teammates (Haiku and Medse) and i have played it for multiple seasons (some seasons they quit/started playing again) and have achieved over 2700 on bg9 with it multiple times, we plan to go 2800+ this season but we'll see how we go, haikus internet is fkn shithouse.
What would you recommend to players venturing into the Arena World for the First Time?
Well dont delay it, dont think omgomg i dont wanna go in my gears not good enough. That doesnt mean shit, as soon as your 80 gtf in arena. The main thing with arena is the more you do it the more you learn meaning the better you get at it. Theory crafting is a BIG thing with arena, every comp has a counter (except for fkn priest mage, whatever dumbass intented that shit is a dipshit) and counters something else (except priest warrior absolutely useless doesnt really counter anything). Dont get angry that your losing or your team rating is really low, you cant just rock into arena and start dominating face. Theres alot of videos/websites/players out there that are willing to help and give excelent guides for starting arena. Even go as far as checking the upcoming MLG tournament times all the top arena teams compete for prize money etc gives a good inside look at how much preperation and work some people put into their arena.
Why is it you chose the class you currently play?
Well when i started playing WoW in EARLY EARLY classic nobody really had any idea what was going on, my first class was a warlock. I leveled a warlock to the point where i was sick of not being able to roll on all the items, ie mail/leather, this gave me the shits so i rerolled a warrior and yes there was a period where i was busting around in cloth/mail/leather/plate gear and i thought i was fkn badass, since then ive come to my senses and i love playing my warriors (yea ive got 2) because its easily the funnest class to play in both pvp/pve.
What would you recommend for players just starting out as a Warrior?
Get a Shadowmourne. Only joking, but seriously if you get the chance to get one, they are insane. Like i said before warriors are really gear dependent, so i suggest doing some heroics as a dps warrior until your geared enough to start pulling some good numbers and app for a pve guild, in between your heroics scope trade chat for some arena partners (yeah trade chat i said it). Theory crafting is a big
thing when starting out, so be patient, read up on warriors and it will get easier and easier, eventually you'll melt faces.
What is your favorite memory of competing in Arena?
Well theres a load of amazing moments in arena, ive played against and with some of the top players on BG9. Beating a group of players that represent in MLG is always satisfying, you know youve progressed in arena since you first started. The two things that spring to mind though, number one: playing Warrior DK Resto Druid in season 7 vsing an RPM, my druid and DK partners died leaving me with all three of their members alive, i caught the mage/priest in a SS bladestorm and dropped them, then 1v1d the rogue around the bottom pillars of blades edge, eventually winning. Number two: I was playing my alt warlock in full blues/pve gear with Haiku on his alt rogue we vsed a druid warrior. Haiku died before i was even out of the starting room i really dont know what i was doing i managed to global the druid and kite the warrior around and kill him off but experienced like this happen all the time in arena if you play enough games : )
Finally, what is your favorite PvP memory, may it be World Pvp, Arena or Battlegrounds?
Hmm well alot of my pvp memories are in my movies but my absolute favorite memory was back in Classic WoW where the top guild on the server hired all the warlord/high warlords (i was a warlord at the time) to defend them while attempting the world bosses in silithus for the opening of the AQ gates shit. There was about 5 of us and they provided 4 healers for us. everyone other guild on the server was there trying to wipe them and it was just insane, it went for about 6 hours and was easily my favorite pvp moment ever, too bad i didnt make movies back then!
Thankyou for taking the time to speak with us at MMOwned!
