2) Copy-Paste in the wow folder and overwrite

3) Copy-Paste the updated folder somewhere else for backup

4) Update addon with curseforge

5) Paste back the backup guides folder

I'll have to go over this again lol seems I don't actually get it working for some reason been off the game for a bit though so would be nice to get back into

Well you are not saying why it dies not work, or what you extracted it with?

Seeing people intentionally never update their software. Then try to extract a new file with old software. Or never delete the saved variables.

I did just do the above and also what says on your original post, does seem the guide is still only for 1-30 at most. If you remove the one from curseforge it also doesn't allow you to use the one you installed


Edit - Scratch that, going to follow over your guide again and hope it works lol. I have ran out of time to play around for now, will report back however it doesn't seem to be showing up in my wow;folder anymore after installing it on curse so I can remove the obvious guide and overlap it

That is for a couple of things

People intentionally choose the wrong or old software to install it so I recommend 7zip

Or their folders are damaged or they installed it in the wrong place

For me at least, I did exactly what was mentioned trying both your way and the one I quoted 2 days ago. Nothing has been damaged/put in the wrong place my end, more or less just uninstalling/deleting other stuff that was mentioned to do so, so i'll start from basics again pretending that I don't have any of it installed -

Downloaded 7zip (although in this case I also have winrar just because it seems easier to use imo)

Selected it, downloaded the "guides.rar" file, which has of course gone to winrar
Opened curseforge, downloaded "restedxp guide" (v4.6.47-cata-zip)
Extracted it to my desktop (has given me a file case, similar to the icons we have in the actual addons menu in your desktop searches) - Keeping in mind, still only has the 1-27/31 range on it if I check the actual guides in the stuff

For some interesting reason it doesn't seem to show restedxp despite downloaded on curse in my addons file, but I have added the folder named "guides" (what I got from extracting to my desktop) to the addons anyway just in case it works this way

Keeping in mind again, I have also extracted straight to said file, with and without restedxp actually installed.

Edit a picture to confirm it's also there still, despite the obvious above it shows again (was sometimes not even showing to begin with, as such I cannot delete any files as recommended)

And again, showing what I have said all along, and this is including the fact of not being able to actually delete the guides file at the moment as it isn't in my wow folder although you can see it literally is there and has given me the one from curseforge?

This is what I suggest

Back up the wtf and Addons folder and delete the old one.

Run the fake and let it create new folders.

Use the curseforse updater and install RXP
Download the guides and extract with 7zip to the RXP folder in Addons
/reload

Seeing for some reason
The folders are not reading. But it reads the other addons

I have to ask tho, noticed the guides have have not been updated since September. Have they seriously not done any update to them?

I hadn’t updated my Guides folder in almost a year - just downloaded the new one however when I load up I have tons of error messages saying “Error parsing guide 3-20 questing prep - dungeons and shopping: invalid function call (.requires) quest 4123. Etc etc, this goes on for probably 50 or so quests. Any ideas what this is? When I roll back to my old guides folder these errors don’t appear

Well a few things

People claim there are guides updates. Instead it was the addon and they did not bother update it. So instead of downloading it and installiong it themselves. They expect me to download it, upload it, so they can download it themselves all again.

Also if any changes to thge guides. They do not tell the customer about them. On their account it shows if there is an update. But they does not even say if there was a update made.

Also source to these supposed update? As the last 5 times people claimed there was. There was not any at all. Then they quoted the link to the changes and it was for the addon not the guides.

As you say september. Well seeing there is no patch change and no changes in game. Why would there be changes? Add to that, if there are changes, they do not tell the customer and the last few, the version did not change either.
Add to that, how would anyone know if there was a change or not? I could upload the exact same file and no one would know the difference. Seeing they go up load time and not the content of the file.

Also I do not even pay for the guides. So why would I pay for something I do not use. But people have an answer for that. They expect me to pay for it, with my money and then share it so they can get it for free.

So I check when I have access, with all the past 12+ times people claimed there was an update, there was not one at all.

No you are right and that is my question. How can someone charge for something that they know has errors?
