Unable to recreate the error, my previous one still works fine using Kynox's MEF.

EDIT2: tried with my Troll-Nelf fix and it works, but doesnt work if the feetfix is inside :S Dont get this.

If your game is crashing after a period of time, it sounds like you have a bigger issue than the model edit. Something such as failing RAM or hard disks would cause this kind of issue.

I suggest removing all model edits (put them in a folder on your desktop or something, just dont leave them in the Data folder) then run repair.exe in the main WoW folder. Click check files only to test your game data for corruption.

Nope there is actually a problem with Euro vers of the game, but this problem is mainly cuz of DBC editor and has nothing to do with the guide.

Any idea what the deal is with making an edit like this now? I tried using my pre-WotLK MPQ and remade a new one from scratch today and each one prevents WoW from booting.

I am having the same problem.

I edited it with DBC editor, saved as .MPQ, and the game won't start up.

The method has yet to change. One major reason your game would fail to start correctly again is because your DBC editor is corrupting the file, try a different DBC editor.

So far I've tried 3 DBC editors and none of them have worked. Maybe I just got unlucky all 3 of them corrupted :P. Can anyone tell me if it still works or if there is another way?

this still works. i do it all the time following exactly what this guide says.

doesn't work for most people, but it has to do with kynox's MEF. it DOES work with cypher's MEF, except that that fix longer works since patch 3.0.8.

for some reason, the boot fix DOES work with kynox mef for some people. i haven't figured out why, as it doesnt work for any of my computers.
