[Model Swaping for Dummies] Simple guide with pictures.

Allirght well i Seeing how my thread about model swaps had quite allot of requests (which i will still do!!) i decided to post a simple picture guide, with everything you need on how to do them yourself. That is just in case you feel like it, or don't feel like waiting for me to a request, as it take some time.

Ok, first off you will need to DL and instal this program:

-Glitchys MES!

Once you got that installed lets follow these few simple steps and get your own race to race swap!

Step1:
-When you run the program for first time you will get this window:


Click on "Load" and make sure to navigate to your World of Warcraft Folder, and than to select "Data" and than click OK. Like shown on this picture:



Allright that's all for loading the Data path, now go to "Save" and program will load.
Once it loaded we can go to Step 2! ( we didn't really need steps, but it's just so much cooler with them !! )

Step 2:

Allright well now that program loaded you will see something like this:


you want to click on the icon which i pointed to with the awesome artistic white arrow.
When you are done with that we can continue to more cool steps, lets call next one Step 3!!

Step 3:

Once you have selected "Race Changer" icon which i pointed to you will get the folowing window:



First thing you want to do, is click on "Create List" Button, and let it do its job, it will take roughly few minutes.
Allright, well we had our fun with steps, so lets just skip that from now on
After the program is done with creating the Path List, you want to press "Save As" button as show on next picture:



When you've done that, you obviously need to specify the path where you want it to be saved, i usualy just save them on Desktop.
Example would be, if you want to make Troll Male to Orc Female, you want to call it TrM-OrF ( you also DONT need to put .mpq at the end, PROGRAM DOES IT AUTOMATICLY).

Allright when that is done too, you will get back to the menu, here you want to make sure "Helm Fix" is ticked as ENABLED. and that you specify the race/gender you want to swap, and the race/gender you want to swap TO. Like on the next picture example :



Now just press "Convert" and you are done!! It will be converting for a bit tho, roughly 5 min. And than you have your own race swap! :P

EDIT: Adding this text to clarify finishing of and getting the Model Swap to work, as clarified in the later post:

So lets assume you got file called "TrM-OrF.MPQ" On your desktop. That is there purely for you to be able to see and recognize what you just made, as TrM Is Troll Male - us "to" and OrF is Orc Female, when you actually want to get file in to action, you want to copy it in your world of warcraft Data folder, and reaname it. You want to name it : patch-Q.MPQ (.MPQ is already there so reanke the text part ofc). Or if by any chance you want to use more race swaps at same time, you can name it patch-x.MPQ
X being anything from 4-9 or Q- some letter :<. so 4,5,6,7,8,9,Q all works

Yes it can, it can actually be used for lots of stuff, mounts aswell, the guide i posted, has a user clicking on "Race Change" Icon, and thats 1 out of 8 options, so to not list them here you can DL, and experiment.

As i've only followed the steps so people can do their Race to Race swaps easier and faster, without having to wait for anyone!

I think mounts are categorised as "creatures" so it would be creature to creature

Thanks for the help. Downloaded and currently playing around however I cant find Brown Bear > Amani War Bear with the mount tool : / any help ? will give rep ofc

In most of not all cases race swaps using Glitchy's MES end up with missing parts and whatnot, but makes for a fast and effortless swap.
For more indepth race swap I recommend Ubermonkey's guide http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...-features.html
Its more complicated for the avarage new commer and more prone to failure but if done correctly it can yeld some perfect race swaps.
Nevertheless +rep for your efforts.

hey sham im playing round with them also
just did green skeletal to black silithid, logged in and the mount was leaking pixles everywere is the only way i can describe it lol!
but yeh the names for the BLP's arnt that obviouse :P ill google it and see if theres a list of what each BLP's are ingame

Well as i was unable to find update to Glitchys MES, the amount of Mounts is limited, perhaps there is a version with allot more, but this is one i use, purely for Race to Race Swaps, and it works like a charm. If you feel like digging you can brows the web for newer version, that possibly has more mounts

I did have "leaking pixels" even on race swaps, but it only happened when i didn't Create List Path ( you only need to do this once ofc. )

As Burnica said, There are far more complex guides, and ways to do race to race swaps, one of which he linked, and ill redo it.

But as said, its complex and requires allot of time, the one i posted is more or less, lets call it point click result application, and more than often you will end up with a good result. Up to you which you will use, this one is here to help, as majority of people uploading race to Race swaps, especially compilation threads are using this, or getting same result. And this will speed it up for people, instead of having to constantly ask, and plea for them :P
