I'm getting an error as hovinko posted above ... no clue why but it's kinda annoying since the guide is simple , can't find out what's going wrong.

-> Passed the .NET error but now i'm getting a WoW error. Could someone please be kind and tell me only 1 spell that he/she has changed (with this guide) and worked for him/her ? Whatever spell i dont really mind. Just want to test the way i'm doing it and find out what i'm doing wrong if it's not only the spell id.

changed starfire > pyroblast.... my moonkin is casting a fire spell however there isnt any "ball" just the impact animation .... what im doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong directly, but you need a different method, modifying another field. Aside from the spell icons, the guide in this thread is primarily the same method as within my guide of several months ago, and that method alone, though working well on many spells, doesn't work if you want to change a spell with no traveling-missile animation (like Starfire) to a spell which has a traveling-missile animation.

However, I happened to figure out a modified method and a solution a few days ago, which involves modifying an additional column within Spell.dbc and makes even conversions such as Smite -> Fireball (or your Starfire -> Pyroblast) actually work. I updated my "[Guide] Spell swapping as of 3.3.2 (without MES)" old thread to include my recently devised method, bumping it again to the first page of this forum to be easy to find, so you could go there.
