K thanks, this one is much better/faster. And it actually saves.
1 Problem:
What is the animation for the Shadowmourne Proc? I checked the Item - Shadowmourne, in 131, it has a 0. For Soul Fragment it also has a 0. I don't know what to search.

i made thorns > shadowmourne visual high, but now when i cast thorns my character dosnt make any kind of animation, how do i fix this?
also does anyone know how to fix creature to creature/race to race/npc to npc and so on?
uhm I tried this and made starfire into moonfire. and it works. BUT :P it has no casting graphics as moonfire is instant and starfire is not, it does the graphics when casting time is finished and all, but while the casting bar is up the character is just standing there :P dunno if I have missed something. but if I can get some animations for casting it would be absolutely awesome![]()
Just look up ID's from spells by useing wowhead or wowdb, the ID's in the spell.DBC can be found in the most left part of the file wich is greayed out, this way you always have the correct spell.
I have alittle problem i ran in today after swapping mind flay to focus beam (spell that cast by berl's treasure hunter). supposedly the white fog only appear on the enemy but in my spell swap it appear on both enemy and my charracter. Is there anyway to fix this?? thanx
Hi!
Thanks a lot for the guide, I do have one problem tho.
I wanted to change the animation of Hammer of Wrath to Shadowbolt, and changed every Hammer of Wrath number in the 131 colum with 64 (the shadowbolt number).
Now, I did exactly as you said. I saved spell.dbc in the editor, opened it in warcraftstudios and turned it into a patch. But when i opened WoW, there wasn't a single change to hammer of wrath.
This is the edited spell.dbc I made the patch of:
Spell.dbc
This is the patch i eventually made:
patch-5.mpq
If you could take a look at it, I would be very grateful
Edit: I just noticed that when i create the patch, by giving it a name, the patch is 4.33mb. When i press Add file to archive, select spell.dbc, typ DBFilesClient\Spell.dbc in the box, save & quit the program, the patch still is 4.33mb. I reckon it doesn't affect the patch?

Thank you for this, it helped making my Rejuv > valanyr bubble. (Heh gotta dream eh) I was curious though if theres a way to keep the casting animation where your arms move and keep the spell visual thats the bubble or is this not possible? Right now its doing the val bubble on people but my tree just sits there and it looks idle to me
I don't know if you're always reading that guide ( which is awsome) but I have a big problem with this spell swaps. My problem is that when I follow the instructions to do a patch, the spell is well swapped, but it makes the descriptions of all the spells, items, mounts, buffs, professions and all of this to just ... vanish :X It's a little difficult to up a profession, when we don't know what item we craft :X
Is there any way to know the rank of each spell in DBC editor? for example i see like 20 shadowform spells in DBC editor, i have no idea which one of these is used by my shadowpriest ingame.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=15473
This. For future reference check up the spell in wowhead and you see what ID it use.

Hello, I'm new to this and been trying to make a spell swap or modification, to replace Stealth with Shadowform and Vanish with Dispersion the Priest spell
But I can't get it to work, i copy the number for Shadowform and Dispersion and past them into the Stealth and Vanish, and do all that, but they wont work
Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong or make them for me ? But I would love to learn better how to make swaps and such
